Sand skiing??

Saw this dope video where some people were skiing in sand- but they were hauling complete ass!! I tried it and it sucked complete ass!! How do I make my skis slide better on sand??? Thanks for any info

Unless you ski on super fine old sand(Africa or Peru), you need a Formica base(plastic countertop material). Normal ski bases won't slide as well.

Even on good sand a Formica base or something similar is pretty key.

I used floor wax and a buffer. It seemed to work pretty well. Board would be noticeably slower inbetween re applying a bit. On a big steep dune you can get some decent speed though.

Lol, I don't hate snow I love it, it's just that there is this terrible thing called springtime when there is none of that

Good guess. I'm straight outta traverse city, Michigan. We got some dunes and stuff. Also, I know spring is good but all our goddamn snow is gone so I'm making a summer setup and (hopefully) setting up some sand skiing stuff

tried it here at the sand dunes in Colorado. Hands down the worst thing I could have done. Embarrassed myself deeply. Will never return to the sand dunes as it give me PTSD.

Were you on Normal skis or did you use Formica or sand wax??

Normal skis, with some Dr.Dune red hot wax that they sold there. I just layered up the wax on the bases of the skis.

truf it did rain a few days before but on the 65 degree pitch I skied I went perhaps 3 MPH huge letdown

Well winter is back in Michigan and luckily I snagged 6 rails from some old guy down the road who moved in and was gonna throw them out when he found them in the backyard.
