Sand Skiing

So i have stumbled upon a decent slope of sand at a beach. Its about 200 vert feet, maybe as steep as a blue/black diamond.
I was wondering if a simple park ski would work to go down this. I remember watching the TC episode where they skied it, they didnt really explain what they used but it did look like they were using skis with nothing special on the base, although maybe they put some liquid on.
Also this is going to be beach sand, not sand dune sand, so will it ruin my skis?
So do you have any experience with sand skiing, because due to the fact that I live in LA and not the southern hemisphere, I will do anything to ski right now, even if its on sand.
Thanks

TC crew used formica on their bases. didn't work to well cause it fell off. It's not gonna be good for your bases however you do it thats for sure.

ya i saw that part but when they were actually skiing well down the snow, I could see that there wasnt really anything on their bases

sand works but is really slow. Not the best on skis but not too bad. the bindings take a beating. Have had plenty of fun on the sand

in the thumbnail of that vid, i actually thought it was a real person on real snow until the next shot. thats pretty awesome
