Yeah I saw somebody doing it and it was not working at all. Just jumping off the lips on the dune and doing tricks is fun though. Besides, hiking up to a good height from where you could ski a good amount would be fuckin hard in the dunes. ( with all the gear)

It doesn't really worth. Not worth the trouble to bring your skis.

Are you from that area? I live an hour from White Sands, NM in Cloudcroft, NM.

i've seen some pretty sweet TR's on telemarktips and TGR. it looks super fun and ive wanted to try it for a while. there are sand dunes a few hours from me so i might try to make it down there this summer

It doesn't work. When I was sandboarding in Namibia I asked if they had ski's and they said there was too much friction for them to work (the sand is like really sticky spring snow). The boards are better for some reason and although I can't snowboard for shit it was still fun (apart from the concussion --> faceplanted). Certainly worth doing once. You can try with your skis but take a board as it works whereas the skis dont' really.

doesnt really work at all, i tried and just got stuck and ragdolled down this huge dune, get yourself a dirtbike and have way more fun

^ alright thanks man, good thing i have an old Shitty Avalanche board sitting in my basement. Also hiking in sand in ski boots prolly sucks

well skis work by creating friction with the snow, which then creates water that the ski can glide over.

sand is not like snow in anyway when you look at it like this ^

would fuck up ski bindings for sure, i bet.

i bet snowboarding (sandboarding?) would work though

fuck it snowboarding sucks anyway so even if i face plant down the dune as long as my skis are on my feet ill be having a good time,
Im going in a week so ill take some photos/vid and let u guys know how it went

also anyone have a pair of those Ossama Pro's in the 182 range that they wanna trade for an old beat up Avalanche Snowboard?
