Salt Lake City VS Seattle

Alright. Do to my money situation, Seattle is looking harder. One thing I'm concerned about is I hear Utah is a commuter school, what sort of college experience would I get there? And even if it sounds dumb,.... Women?

Another option I'm exploring is finding a job in California, and couch surf between my cousins ( that don't ski but live in Long Beach) and Granny who live 1 hour 30 Mind from Big Bear.

I've got a ton of choices but really need to act on one soon, thanks to everyone thats helping

I have been strongly thinking about SLC as well but how bad are the Mormons and how ghetto is cottonwood heights?

SLC! why would u trade a 2-3 drive to sub-par mountains when u could live cheaper, still party, and ski within 1/2 an hour at like 6 different dope resorts, plus if ur into park, park city is one of the best in the nation and snowbird/alta are word class. i love seattle but not for school and skiing and i also lived down in walla/walla when i went to whitman and spent a ton a time in seattle, livin in SLC now and it's way sicker, it pretty much never rains.

I hateee traffic so i had to get out of seattle, but it's still one of my favorite cities i have ever lived in. that being said iv always wanted to live in slc. the easy access to the resorts is a huge draw for me. especially since all skiing around here is an hour plus away.

Many women here don't take kindly to abortion, so anonymous coition can be a game of roulette.

Also, Seattle is a way better city, and the skiing is better too. But the traffic/commute is almost bad enough to invalidate the skiing aspect, especially if you're going to school. Good luck driving four hours total to go skiing on the weekends while also not half-assing college.

because id rather live in closer proximity to people who spell the word ”you” as ”you” and not ”u”

its been sunny and 80+ here since july man.

yeah its cloudy and rainy alot in the winter but when you do get those days where the sky opens up there is not a more beautiful city scape and backdrop anywhere.

And when its 40 degrees and pissing rain downtown, depression is about the last thing I feel.

hahaha if anything it's too safe. cwood heights is a weird mix of snowbros and suburban families.

Dude Bear is insanely fun for park. But no powder and a 1hr 30min drive...... i dont know being in cali will probably make up for it

Whys this have to be so tough. If SLC could just transport its self to the PNW but keep its resorts and snow but loose the Mormons= paridis

ya dont ever come to the PNW all it does here is rain. its literally 100% dildae 100% of the time

ya, actually it's the opposite.

plus, I hope you don't fuck my skis up at sturts again this year, and learn how to base grind MFer.

Seattle is an awesome place, and Snoqualmie is only an hour away. It does rain a lot, but you get used to it, also have you visited either of the schools?

Yup both. Also looking at Bellingham. U of u was cool, UW seemed more like the usual portrayal of college. Right now I favor Seattle, but with cheaper tuition and cost of living makes it so I can't completely throw our SLC yet.

I moved to UW Seattle for college from California. I also considered other places close to skiing (Portland, Boulder, Davis).

When I first arrived I was pretty down by the weather, coming from sunny Ca. I'm not sure where you're coming from, but it will definitely take some getting used to no matter what. On the other hand though, the PNW will grow on you pretty quickly. It sucks because when you move there for college, it's fall, which is basically the shittiest time of year in Seattle. Every day is darker and colder than the last, and there's no skiing yet. When the snow does come though, it's pretty awesome. I rode 50+ days a year while enrolled full time at uw. Unlike Tahoe or other places that tend to get a big dump once every few weeks, Washington is constantly getting snowed on. It's pretty common to have a few 6-10 inch days in a row, which I think is better than getting one 3 foot day every few weeks. Then summer rolls around, and it's awesome. You have the cascades and the olympics, which are pretty unreal.

At the same time, UW is a way better school than U-U, especially if you're considering science, engineering, or anything with research really. Plus theres Google, Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, ect. Lots of huge companies, so a really strong economy, making it easy to find a job as well assuming you have a good resume.

SLC has some perks, but I honestly think if you chose it, it would be sort of "taking the easy way out". It's less of a risk, but also less opportunity than Seattle has to offer. Do it, and don't look back.

Seattle is the shit, if you don't mind living in hipster central. But I'd choose the army of hipsters I see daily going to the Art institute of Seattle over the Mormons I'd get in SLC. Get used to some rain but it's not to bad after one season of it. Seattle FTW

Since I really can't decide and the time to leave is coming...

which has less BRO's?

those tend to be my least favorite kind of people.

are we talking skier bros or like the former high school jock bros. Cause SL has a lot of the first but none of the second.

I am a senior at Seattle University. Seattle has done me well so far, if you have specific questions pm me, most everything seems to have been said.

Do you like having to go to a liquor store to buy good beer?

Seattle. Do it for the booze, the snow, proximity to Canada and all the other sins you love.

I've always felt Salt Lake is a shit hole. I came here for school. As soon as I'm done I'm probably retreating back to the rainy PNW or AK.

Kind of the second one

the sort of kids that think there "hard" or ganstar in someway, just aren't cool at all being pricks all the time
