Salomon Suspect

I am either getting the Salomon Suspect or the Atomic Punx. I have herd great things about the punx (light, buttery, spin quick) but not much about the Suspect. I ski park 90% of the time and will center mount these skis. Are they light? How flexy are they? Do they spin quickly? Basically I am looking for a ski that can stomp big jumps and bounce around on the jibs.
How are these skis on rails?

They're supposed to be a good, fun park ski that's good on jumps and rails too. But their durability sucks, I would look elsewhere if I were you...

from what i've seen/heard the salomons park skis suck in general when it comes to durability like the guy above me said, from what you seem like you are after, buttery, light, flexy, the line afterbang would seem like a good option, plus they are cheap. hope that has helped.

yeah dude i have read that a few places. people say the edges rip out? not about that... prolly going with the atomic punx. thanks

go with the Punx you wont be disappointed. The Salomons ski great but their "edge armor" tech actually makes the edge durability even worse. And to the poster above, afterbangs are far from light.

The edges started blowing out of my suspects after no more than two or three weeks last season. They're fun while they're in good shape but you'll definitly be trying to warranty them i can guarantee that.

ya i have about an inch of edge blown out on my suspects. even tho the durability sucks i still think suspects are a great ski in the park.

how to warranty?
if you blew them out on rails like everyone else and their mom ten you may be screwed. if you say the words rail or jib to a warranty person at salomon they will be done the conversation. my roomate is a salesmen at a salomon dealer, he called them for me and signed in with his shop account and they sent him out a new pair no questions asked. lucky.
moral of the story is if you dont know someone you may be out of luck but dont think poorly of salomon because of this warranty policy because it is fairly typical of most other companies in the industry. though most other skis i have had didnt break so fast. i def wouldnt pay money for them again, ill ride free ones though.

becasue in the park you are abusing the skis, and riding rails and hitting jumps are straining the construction of the skis, if their is a factory defect then the skis may be warrenteed, ive heard stories that kids with bunches of edge cracks on their dumonts and suspects and once salomon understood that the cracks were cause by riding in the park and salomon kinda said sorry cant do anything

warranty is easy, basically just send them back to salomon. You can do this through ski shops and places like that (anywhere that carries that brand of ski) I warrantied my Lines through REI and I didn't buy them there or anything. And REI will give you a form to fill out that asks you want exactly is wrong with the ski. You don't have to specify how it happened. My roommate warrantied a pair of suspects last year and they gave him this years no questions asked

yeah i wouldnt go with salomon i skiied a pair of 2010 dumonts this summer in new zealand and absolutely tore the edges underfoot to pieces after maybe 10 days in the park. i called salomon and they told me it aint there problem.
