Salomon SPK Leather?

Nope, shouldn't affect them at all, I've seen plenty of leather-less spk pros and they all worked fine. Just be careful not to damage the boot when you are removing the leather.

I'd look around before doing this, I've seen a couple of threads about it and I've heard stuff like the rivits don't come off so they're just poking out...I dunno, google it, it works better than the new NS search bar, and it'll most likely bring you back here to a thread about it.

Just curious...why did you spend the extra money for the pro if you don't want the leather...

yup, the pros are a 110 flex while the kaos are 100 flex, even though those are both very generous flex ratings, the kaos's flex feels more similar to most other brand's 90 flex boots to me

The definitely believe the leather keep my feet a little warmer because it covers up the cracks in the boot that let heat out. It certainly feels like it.

ya the spks were a bitter stiffer and that's the cheapest boot i could find last year. thanks alot for the advice guys +k

fuck but seriously do you think that leather will affect how warm the boot keeps my feet? I can't stand the leather and am so close to just cutting it off

yeah you can always just throw some stickers/tape over the cracks to help keep the wind out like a buddy of mine does

but the leather is just a cosmetic problem anyway. you might sacrifice the performance which honestly matters. but if you do go for it you could always cover up the cracks with some kind of puddy or something. and if you don't like it now just wait for all of the adhesive marks that will be all over the boot and the dirt on them

Have you ridden the boots a lot yet? Or did you just get them? Once you ride them you honestly cannot tell there is leather. I thought the leather wasn't necessary before I got them, but once I rode them I honestly couldn't tell a difference. Except for the slightly warmer feet, but that could be in my head too.

just a warning.. if you do this the rivets could hold some leather on and it would look stupid.. plus the boot is made with the leather and it makes it a little stiffer i think

You should be able to get all the leather off from around the rivets with just a normal knife, would it be that hard?

And I'm not sure why you think the leather would make the boot stiffer, the plastic cuff is what flexes and holds you up, the leather is purely for looks
