Salomon Shift binding brake width?

So I'm looking to put a pair of Salomon Shift bindings on a pair of Head Kore 99 skis (99mm waist). I just had a conversation with my local REI and they claimed I needed the 110mm brake that is available for the Shift. Everything I've read points to using the 100mm spaced brake. Should I be concerned with the guidance I'm getting from my local REI?

Thanks!

Another datapoint that REI is WTF. Shift brake are so wide you could put 90mm brakes on and they'd fit just fine

Echo everyone else's opinion, I just put some shifts on a set of Armada Tracer 98s and the 90mm brake fit best with very little extra room. I also put a set of 100mm brakes on a set of Atomic Vantage 107 ti's.

I own a pair of 100mm Shift brakes that easily fit On3p Wrenegade 108.

90mm brake is around 98mm when deployed so it would be a close fit and might need a minor bending.

Dont listen to REI, the Shift brakes are stupid wide. I have a 100mm brake on a 122mm ski and I didnt even have to bend it to make it fit

110mm brakes on 108mm skis.

As seen 110mm brakes can clear skis up to 118mm without bending (if the binding is properly centred).

^ the 100mm brakes clear 110 easily. You could probably even get the 90mm brakes and be fine.

Thanks all! I thought REI's recommendation sounded wrong.

Skis are at the local ski shop getting Shifts with 100mm brakes.

Thanks again!

Don't think you actually had 100mm brakes. I tried to fit a 100mm brake on a 112mm skis, and there's no way it would go without bending. I'd say a 100 brake would fit up to about 108.

I ordered a 100mm brake because it was the only size that they had left at the time, and it fit on my 122 with zero issue

Guess I'm too late but I would've told you to get 90mm brakes haha

Shift brakes are the widest brakes I've ever mounted to a ski. I had the 100mm brake on a Sakana and wish I had put the 90's on there, they stick out so far which is a serious issue on the shift as any time you hit them together while touring it just causes the brake retainer to come undone then your brakes come down while walking. One of the reasons I also got rid of the shift haha
