Salomon NFX mounting location

Just picked up a pair of 170 Salomon NFX skis. Plan on hitting mostly jumps and the pipe with them, but might do some jibs if the swing weight isn’t too much.

Bindings will be Look Pivot 14.

Where would you recommend mounting them? True center? -.5? -2?

I personally have always split the difference when it comes to recommended vs center. I agree, they should always be mounted manufacturers recommended.

(I know I don’t mount them there, but I ski park like i’ve never seen snow before)

I had the nfx and mounted them at Salomon’s line and they felt great. I normally go more forward but looking at them it looked like Salomon took the skis intent and put that line where it should be

Afton is going to get a dump load of snow. We had 3’ in California. So much that the roads to the ski areas were closed.

I was in town for Christmas and haven’t been to Afton since vail bought it. Ticket prices gone up, but it’s much nicer then it used to be. I used to work at Buck hill and Hyland hills.

Park seems to be the best in the metro area.

Wild and Troll are super sick too and same distance from me at least.

Picked up the skis today from Phil’s ski in Costa Mesa CA.

they did a awesome job. Unlike REI in Tustin, CA there were no scratches on the base or gouges on the top sheet.

Planning on using them this weekend. The skis are super stiff but some flex.

I’m going to ski them on piste tomorrow.

What do you think of the stiffness and weight?

Are they any good in the park or are they really a pipe and jump ski?

they are heavy AF... i recommend getting literally any other park ski lmao. dead serious. faction prodigy 1.0, arv 86, etc

They are heavy, but at the 170cm long size not too bad. They are lighter then the Line Afterbang I used to have.

They are a really fast and stable ski. They hold a edge really well and might be my new favorite ski. I plan on making the NFX my east coast, pipe and jump ski.

I just got the faction CT 1.0 and that will be my park ski.

I’m going to give it a try in the park, but I really intended these to be pipe and jump skis.

they cave well on ice.

the faction ct 1.0 are for park

yes, they ski great if you dont mind the weight. i just find the weight pretty stupid on rails and jumps
