I'm going out to Utah this january for ten days and going to u of u next fall. im looking for a ski that can first of all ski powder, ski a groomer here and there, a hit or two in the park, but most importantly the pow pow! so i am thinking/looking for a ski about 90-100mm underfoot. and up for any suggestions!

I work at a shop so i need to order shop stuff cause i need the discount right now lol and we carry Atomic, Head, Salomon, and Volkl.

So i basically narrowed it down to but it is not limited to the Salomon Gun, Atomic Snoop Daddy, or Head Mojo 94. Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with any of these skis or has any suggestions....

guns are meh, foam core.
armada ARVs are money, and the k2 kung fujas look pretty dope too. seths are always solid.
you sound like you might want something fatter though. look at the rossi scratch steeze or S6, they're awesome powder skis that'll still be good for occasional groomers. they have full camber so they're not pure pow sticks.
 
ohh i didn't see the shop part.
well in that case, see if you can get a pair of atomic pimps? volkl bridges are good too, as long as your not doing a lot of switch stuff. don't know about the heads

and yeah why do the guns have to be foam core!?!?

 
I dunno, I rode the Guns last year and didn't like them at all.

Just demo'd for a few runs on groomed, but still, they just didn't feel right to me.
 
Volkl Mantra? Not a true twin correct?

Volkl Bridge 92 underfoot... too narrow?

What about a Gotama? Too fat for what i'm doing at 105mm? Or even the Atomic Pimp^^ at 103mm?

I have no clue and am a terrible decision maker! help!
 
Salomon Czar would be a good choice, the Mojos are friggin heavy and stiff, i had a pair once. Don't know much on atomic, I would go with the czar or the lord from salomon. The Czar has 620 mm of rocker just on the tip(pow), and the lord has 210 mm of rocker just on the tip (all Mountain).
 
My mate loves his Salomon Guns and he is a seriously good mountain skier, its all preference..Volkl Gotamas and Pimps will both be sick for what you want.. Pimps will be a load better in the Park though.. I would go with Pimps for you.. sick skis.. You could go wider than that in Utah.. when you move to U of U you are gonna want a dedicated pow ski 115+..
 
sounds money, pimps would be my first choice out of those companies.
yeah i don't think lords aren't true twins. and i don't see much potential in the lords...i feel like they're salomons cap construction way to market rockered tech to east coast weekend warriors. i think guns are salomons more freestyle oriented ski, but they're also essentially a ten year old design that they're eliminating for 2010 (not 100% on that, anybody know for sure?).
