Salomon Ghost 120

scored a killer deal on these guys in exchange for my dalbellos. first pair of boots I've gotten that were actually my size. did it without knowing much about em, watcha guys know?

I just got fitted for a pair last Friday, to replace my full tilts(GASP). These have an obscene amount of heel hold and control, assuming you got the right size. I wore a 26.5 FT, and I am in a 25 salomon, sized down a shell for more control. Did work on the bootboard and toe box so they would be comfy, but with the same amount of control.

If the boot fits you, you'll like it. I spent a ton of time finding the boot that fit me best, and stayed away from 3 piece designs because of my experience with the FT's. I know it will probably be different for you cause you don't have my foot, but I am super excited about these boots. Also, get a custom footbed. Pulled mine from the FT's, put them in, and the fit became twice as good with my footbed in the boot instead of the stock one.

Yeah.

Also....Walk mode lets the cuff move back further for touring.

If you got the "max", you can kind of heat mold the shells. We did it to mine and it did make a difference.

Soles on them are replaceable, with normal alpine DIN, and Salomon also sells touring tech soles(I think.)

Lace up system, use it if you are touring. Otherwise don't bother.

Might want to bend the tongue around the ankle, comes kind of sharp out of the box.

Boot board is like, rigid foam stuff. It's weird.

^ wrong boot, you have the Quest Max 120's, he has the Ghost 120's presumably from last season as they were not available this season. There is a Ghost Max next season though which is a combo of the quest and x max.

haha yea i was like "uhh whut"... anyways they fit super good. and I thought my dalbello blenders were super comfy hahaha. just worried bout them being a 120 flex in park. oh well. I bought JJ's for a reason ahhaha

The Ghost 120 is such an awesome boot. The performance is top notch, amazing edge hold and lateral stiffness. Especially compared to Full Tilt. I own Full Tilts as well. Only thing better about the FT is comfort and warmth (AKA the liner)... Put an intuition liner in the ghost and youll have amazing boots. The jbars on the full tilt liner works so well with the Ghost. Best Heel hold ive ever had

The Ghost 120 destroys Full Tilt when it comes to performance . also I really like the 2 buckle system, and i dont feel like i lose any performance or hold.

The 120 flex is perfect for me. It feels a little soft, but not much. Its stiff enough and it performs when you need it too. With the ghost you can straightline down double blacks or rip up the deep mogul fields. The flex is just perfecto. You can bring em into the park with good success aswell. There truely awesome boots.

You might have a problem in the park if your a lightweight skiier, or if you're a mellow skier. If that is the case, you can take out the rear bolt/rivet to make it softer. A professional bootfitter can also make it softer if you really need it to be.

worst part about them is getting into them absolute cunts. ripped both the tongue straps off mine. once you're in tho fantastic boots

brett, sounds like you're putting your boots on the hard way. Grab either side of the shell and spread them apart. Your foot should slide right in.

I've put more than 300 days on my ghost 120s. probably have to retire them after this season. I've loved them. My liners are pretty beat at this point though. The lace up liner is nice. Overall great boot. The heel hold for me isnt the greatest with 2 buckles. If I really press the front of my skis for a nollie or butter, I get some heel slip. They've treated me well, but I'll probably go back to langes for my next boots.

Oh, maybe you said, cant remember. But get them fitted up, footbed, the works, if you havent already.

As far as the flex, I'm about 140lbs.. ski pretty agressively. They worked great for me in and out of the park. Great all mountain freestyle/freeride boot. As someone else said, if you think they're too stiff, take the bolt out of the back.

once you get exit and entry down, its not that bad. But definately more difficult than other boots. and i could understand the potential ripping of the tongue.

^^ya even when i ripped it i was pulling the tongue to the side. even now i pull it to the side until my foot is half in then reach down and pull the plastic bits apart.

i cant really complain, I got them for free in exhange for my dalbello blenders that i had about 50 days on. they seem sweet tho. seems like a good boot to get more into the sidecountry with and such. i'll ski sunday and see how they are
