I just picked up a pair of these reluctantly. the sales rep said they were the closest boot any ATL area ski shop would have to the type of skiing i want to do.

I'm worried that they will hamper some of my ability in the park to carve off jumps, butter etc

do you think they are too stiff/ should i return them ask them to order me SPKs?

thanks.

If the Falcon (narrow 98mm) boot fits you, it could work out really well for you where the SPK (wide 105mm) will be completely wrong for you. The Falcon shares the same lower shell dimensions as the X3 and Shogun/Ghost. The only downside to it is that it has a firm plastic boot board vs a rubber one found in the Shogun/Ghost, and two extra buckles. If it fits you well, the Shogun/Ghost might be a better option, but if your shop can't get either of those, you can probably order rubber boot boards which will make it more comfortable on the landings.

Is this OP stupid?

Why would a boot based off a race boot(Falcon 10/ Falcon CS Pro) hurt carving? Also it's soft, and it seems that your fear is that it's too stiff. Having 4 buckles that are super light will weigh less than the 2 larger/heavier buckles of the Ghost/SPK. Falcons are good boots...IMO the 2 buckle boots(Even Ghost, which has a similar shell shape) don't have anywhere close to as good heel hold as the Falcons. Just keep them if they fit you..

Also, you'll first want to get a good footbed for you. Solly liners and especially footbeds are total shit. I recommend SOLE if they fit you and they're fairly cheap..a lot of people use Superfeet which are also cheap. Custom footbeds are a waste(You can mold SOLEs, but they are a great shape how they come). If you have any money left then also get intuitions.
