line and armada both use snowboard edges, and double thick bases. However you have a few other routes to go, detune edges underfoot, and make them ski like crap, sharpen your base edges at -3 degrees so they are angled slightly up and away from whatever you are grinding on, you'll still have edges, but turning does get a little worse, or go with reinforced systems like atomics, and now dynastars. the edges will still crack, but pulling edges out will happen less. Fischer puts a layer of titanal under their bases in the ski boot area as reinforcement, and that seems to work too. all in all if you do rails, your edges will crack and fail eventually. The best alternative is to have old skis as rail skis, and only use your other park skis on rails for comps and stuff.
