Salomon edge armour

any body have any info on this? could be made really sick, im not sure how well the fisher or atomic ones worked but it would be nice not to pull or crack any edges

its def a good idea, the only question i have is why do they only put it under foot. because with how popular presses and buttering has become. there is a lot more torsional stress being placed in the tips and the tails, and i wouldn't be surprised if with in the next season or so, edges start blowing out in places other than under foot. i guess that they only draw back to full length edge aromor, would be the chances that skis become ungodly stiff.

no its only under foot on all of their skis, the difference between the dumonts and other models, is that the dumomts have a double layer of edge armor under foot, as compared to their other skis single layer.

kinda a gimic if you ask me. how often do your edges blow out anyway? and the edge armor has the have some major draw backs

it is prolly gunna be super sick cuz i have the urban punx with the second edge underfoot and it makes them super stable underfoot while being pretty soft at the tips and tail which is really nice because they are stable for jumps but nice and soft also for butters and rails and stuff

I always blow out my edges. I can't keep complete edges for like a month on skis. it sucks. I think it's a great idea. And I've never seen it somewhere else than underfoot. There never is a great impact other than there, even on nose and tail presses, because you don't land hard on the tip. Impact is almost always underfoot

i dont know how i feel about the edge armour. i agree with what someone said up above is if it really does work it needs to be going on throughout the entire ski. but i dont know if that will keep edges from cracking or blowng out

in all though, i think it is a very good idea, do you remember when line experimented with grind plates underfoot on their ski boards. i think concepts such as the edge armor or a second edge under foots, is a way better idea than grind plates.

Personally I think its an awesome idea. Even if it doesnt turn out, salomon took a risk and it might improve future skis.
