Salomon back in freeskiing?

They never leftThey've got Vinni Cash, Lars Tynes, Woods, Bobby and a ton of others

are you also saying BC isn't freeskiing? top kek

'03-'10

Shame Campbell failed so hard at sorting that company out. The 2011 RDS is one of the most solid skis I have ever skied on.

They dropped almost their whole park team, cancelled jib academy, and stop putting any park in the salomon free ski episodes. how about all you get your heads out of your asses.

But. If your going to use the misleading word that is 'freeskiing' they haven't gone anywhere. Their 'big mountain' team has been stacked for years.

It's reasons like this I hate how we still use the term 'free' to describe so any different styles of skiing.

Not quite. They dropped a few riders from the park side but if you look at who they dropped compared to kept it makes interesting reading. Bobby and woodsy are both top slope hopefulls for Sochi. Dumont and Sammy who were the big names to move on did not make it. So they really just refocused the team but people don't really see it that way here for some reason.

Salomon may not have a huge interest in park but to say they were not involved with it is just wrong. Most bigger brands are doing less in the park sector as there is not much money to be made but all the top brands still have some of the best riders.

this is a good point. I'm at fault here. Being a park skier my entire career I just tend to think of that as freeskiing. In terms of x-games, olympics games, and other competitions labeling means, salomon has been pulling away from "free skiing" (not big mountain!!).

Back?

How can you say they left when they have powerhouse mother fuckers like Sammy Carlson, Simon Dumont, Charlie Owens and Downtown Bobby Brown. Even that trendy English cunt James Woods is riding their sticks.

And there finally making a solid ski next season. The NFX is a big step up for Salomon. Everyone will finally have access to a Salomon Lab ski once again!

Sammy and Simon left 2 years ago, and at the time they both had great potential to go to the olympics.

Salomon has just kind of shifted their focus a little over the past few years, but they never completely got rid of the park end of things. And, i must say that it really doesn't seem like they are actually trying to build it up from what it was last year at all, because nothing has really changed that much.

I mean the only ones are their park team last year (that I can think of) were Bobby and Walker. Now walker is no longer on their team and theres 3 new skiers from the pipe side of things. I guess I didn't pay attention a lot last year so i could be wrong

They have actually had a few guys on the team for a while now. When Sammy and Dumont ect were dropped they took on a load of younger skiers. These skiers included Noah Morrison ect. You are just starting to see these guys coming through and at just the right time for the Olympics. So overall salomon were actually very clever. They cut guys who many thought were top guys and replaced them with younger guys. Clever really even if an unpopular choice here.

They make the best 13 and 16 DIN bindings out. The best side country/short tour binding. Their outerwear is bomber(from experience). I never met anyone who was unhappy with their ski's, except people who fucking trash them on rails. Boots are subject to fit, but I liked the Ghost.

You're an idiot.

This. Gotta love ignorant people coming in here thinking they know shit, I love my Quests to death.

"They don't make 160 twin tip park skis, they're out of freeskiing"-OP

Freeskiing is about being free to do whatever right? If that's the case then their line is way more fucking free than most of the park ski brands out since they have park, all mountain, big mountain, touring skis.

oh man thanks for getting all philosophical on us. you're a live saver. No shit they make park skis. So does blizzard and every other ski company now. I'm saying they tossed a lot of their sponsored skiers for half pipe and park, and now they have more in the park than last year.

Your question clearly states "back in freeskiing". Sorry for answering your question directly. I didn't know I was supposed to assume you meant park skiing, my fault.

lol, most liekly there contracts are still going. watch in the next couple years they will all be dropped
