Salomon 2014 skis

Hey ive checked out the slomon Q-98 and 105 I think im gonna buy the 105s.

Any thoughts?

My other options are the k2 sidestash, stomic blog, or the bacons if i can find them for around 400

I want an all mounatin pow ski. But my main focus is that it floats well.

The new q skis are great the 105 is a new ski. It's basically the smaller brother of the q115 which is the old rocker 115. The 105 skis really well it's more then likely going to be salomon a best selling ski next season going off the customer demo days we did at the end if last season. Let me know if there is any thing you want to know about any of salomon a new range or atomic for that matter.

Yes how does the 105 float in pow? Is it a heavy ski? What is its flex. Also do you think the old salomon rocker 2 108 is better than the Q 105.Finally does atomic have an all mntn pow ski like the q 105. ( maybe the blog)

Ok so the q105 is the same nose profile as the rocker 115 and also 108 and 122. It differs from the 108 and 122 by having an early rise tail rather then rocker. Thi tail lets you charge harder on the ski then the ones with rocker tail. The large rockered nose stays up really well in pow but the underfoot stiffness means they can still rip on groomers.

The weight is really light especially the swing weight thanks to the honeycomb in the top and tail. This means you can pivot the ski really fast. The rocker 108 and 122 will pivot faster though thank to the rocker tail.

The 108 is going to be better if your looking for a more jibby ski. As the rocker profile is symmetrical it makes them ride switch really well and the softer tail makes them more playfull. However they will not be as stable for charging pow or on the groomers.

From atomic I would look at the automatic rather then the blog. Yes it's wider but its much similar to the q105. The blog is very soft in the tail so would be more comparable to the rocker 108.

Hopefully that answers most of your questions. Let me know if you have any others.

If you're looking for a playful all-mountain/powder ski, you can't go wrong with the SFB. Read the review on blister, they loved it
