Salmon Suspects 2011 vs. Line Masterminds

This season I'm getting some new skis and the two that stood out to me where the suspects 2011 and the masterminds. My main priority in the ski is its performance in park without sacrificing ability on the rest of the mountain. However, durability, price etc... are also pretty important.
From what I know the suspects are pretty poppy, responsive and can kill it off jumps, while still are capable of shredding on the groomers. However, lack edge durability, and where out pretty quickly. Whereas the Masterminds are a softer more buttery ski that are capable of rails and jumps, however are pretty soft for groomers. Correct me if I am wrong^^Suspects:450.00$Masterminds:330.00$
Basically I am just wondering what I should get and why. Also if anyone has any suggestions of another ski thats similar to these please share.

my 08/09 suspects blew up in like 18 days of riding, but those 18 days were epic. this years are made in austria tho and are sposed to have better quality control. However i have lost all faith in salomon and despite loving how the rode, will probably never support them again.

The mastermind is lines price point ski, you get what you pay for. I would look into line chronics, or armada ar7s if i were you.

Suspects have been known to have durability issues. They are made in Austria now as the guy said above, but its still risky buying them. I would stay away from Salomon for one more year and see if the change of factories affects the durability of their skis.

^ maybe a good idea. this is the first year they did away with the garbage edgearmour. i got mine warrantied and this years do look a lil better. super fun skis until the edges blow up but hopefully they fixed that.

suspects are quite "suspect" durability wise, i just picked up a 2011 pair of masterminds and they rode beautifully across groomers, and they are lighter which is good for learning new tricks, but they are a price point ski so if price isnt a factor you may want to look towards chronic cryptos or k2 revivals are pretty good

thats weird it definately looks different this year, like closer to the sidecut. i also sent back the skis from two years ago and got this years so it may have been altered for last seasons model too. anyway ill start shopping for another pair now i guess.. haha

Yeah, thanks guys I've been checkin out the ar7's but I don't know if there in stock at my store. I also I've heard they might be a little to soft to hit the mountain with some descency, K+ for the good answers

It might just be because i went from the invader to the mastermind that makes the ski feel stiff to me. I mean, the masterminds handle pretty good on jumps and rails. Although i have never ridden the Suspects, i had a friend that loves them. They fall apart pretty fast though.

yeah thats the word, but I don't buy it yet I wanna ride some of the 2011's this year...Salomons gotta be crazy not to improve their edges!
