Sailboats and Racing

Whats up,

I am from Newport, Rhode Island, helps being one of the sailing capitals of the world, but I've been into sailing and racing sailboats my whole life. Love of the water has caused it to start to become my career and someday looking to sail boats for a living but who knows, maybe it will happen maybe it wont. Anyways, wondering if anyone else on here was into sailing of any form, I prefer the racing aspect, but a good day out on the water with friends can be just as fun. Let me know if anyone likes sailing!

Here are some sailing photos if you're wondering what its like

I taught sailing and "raced" lasers and sunfish, occasionally ripped around on a 420. Always wanted to pursue it further, just dont live in the best place for it. I really like cat styles and want to learn on a f20 or something larger/faster that can foil.

Hey man, thats super sick, foiling is super crazy, only done it once and it was a good time, where are you from? Always a good time sending it on a laser

Same. Although never technically taught i did some courses with a friend that was teaching. One sime races at camp or against friends. Almost bought a sunny. A place my dad worked had a few though so i could take em out for free if i was bored of my bike that day.

My cousins laser is still at little sodas bay lake ontario. We took that thing out in some mean swells.

Never really sailed anyhing big. Would be cool but i def got a place in my heart for the smaller crafts.

Taught kids how to sail as a camp counselor, mostly sunnies and occasionally a cat. Tons of fun to do once you get the hang of it- hard to get more fun than solo mobbing in a cat.

Raced optis as a kid for a little during summers. Recently I’ve sailed a family friends sonar 23 in a few regattas and had a blast even won one.

Thats pretty sweet, pretty much everyone around here has memories like that, always fun sitting around, chatting about when we all sailed against eachother, messing around

Hell yeah man, props for teaching the kids, one of the best summer jobs around, and very true
