Saga vs Fd wear build quality

I'm looking. To pick up a new suit for next year, currently have a saga suit from a few years back and it's holding up great totally willing to buy more from them but fd is running some great deals for there triple layer making it way more affordable but how well will it hold up since my sagas bomb proof.

Saga over fd any day. Better outerwear. Better brand. Better riders. Cooler outerwear. Better customer service.

My friend just got Fd snowpants a week ago and they are already starting to rip. I would probably go with saga even though Fd has some really cool looking stuff

I had an FD jacket for 2 seasons and absolutely loved it and now have a Saga jacket this season. both are super solid but FD jackets are super heavy

fd is baggy but imo its not as stiff. I feel that the anomie jackets material is pretty stiff and the FD is more like sleeping bag material. FD is a lot warmer to

the pants tho do not fit as nice as saga does

i would go FD jacket and saga pants

With the new stuff from FD wear, I think its hard not to go with them at times. They also release the most baller edits in skiing. Saga does have reliable build and of course an excellent team. Years ago, I would have said Saga all day, but now, you will be very happy with either.

I like saga. I also like sessions. My sessions jacket is pretty nice, its warm, comfy, and its light. Check them out. Their stuff is also much cheaper than FD

Can't attest to FD, but my Saga jacket has proven to be more durable than a Trewgear jacket I owned - a company that prides itself on producing the most durable outerwear out there.

FD all the way. Just got the triple L jacket this season and it is super sick. extremely light, waterproof, and practical with all the vents on the back and the zip-off sleeves. No question, get the Virtika (FD) jacket.

I honestly don't understand the circlejerking over Saga sometimes, my pair of Fatigue pants have lasted barely a season and a half and are disintegrating already.

that being said I can't speak for FD's quality

Look at orage, eira, and oneill too. I love sagas pants, though not too big of a fan on their jackets which is why I recommend the other three

Saga and virtika are both sick, but its not like either dont ever fall apart. honestly ive heard more of saga ripping than new fd but clearly everyone has their own experiences.

Fd has put a shitton of work into quality of their jackets and with Lesh blowing sales out his ass right now before v5 drops id say you should jump on that.

Get Virtikal son

Ill throw in my opinion here. I bought a pair of FDwear V3 pants earlier in the season. My initial impressions were great, but honestly, for a company that markets essentially park gear, their stuff is not even close enough to durable to be used in the park. Every single time I take a spill, I get a new tear. Even minor impacts with a rail result in a new tear. At this point they have probably 7 or 8 small tears that I have had to sew up to keep from losing the insulation. I emailed them early on after I got the first few asking if there was a defect and I got the standard response of 'That looks like normal wear and tear, you can send them to us and we will patch them for 20-40 dollars if you would like'. I am sorry, but I do not think I will be buying FD wear again because the stuff just is not durable enough. Hell, the zipper on one pant leg broke before I even crashed in them. I have had a pair of 686 pants for 10 years that are now in better shape than the 150+ dollar pair of V4s that have seen only 20-30 days out.

My saga OG logo jacket however which is also new this season only has a single rip in the elbow from a particularly gnarly spill I took, which leads me to think that the Saga gear is much more durable.

TL:DR - FD wear is not park gear, it WILL rip.

My saga pants ripped on the seam after like four days so I am pretty damn pissed about that. I didn't even fall or anything . Reminds me.. I have to email them. Will comment again with customer service reaction.

I ordered that fd suit and I'll compare to my saga once it comes if it feels cheap and flimsy I'll send it back and stick with my current suit

How bout some nice shit like orage or even armada. I don't understand all the hype about saga. Lot of it is kinda ugly anyway

I have found fd wear to be warmer and slightly heavier than saga. But I like the small bit of heft the fd wear jackets have. I do worry about it ripping easier then my saga pants and jacket. I prefer my v3 jacket on cold ass days and I use my saga shutout on warmer days.

Best of both worlds.

Seriously all these smaller companies are surprisingly rugged.

My bloom jacket is the toughest jacket I've had, my saga 3L Anomie pants were indestructible, ended up selling them to a buddy who tore his orage pants and so far my 2L anomie pants haven't frayed at all. I got in on the FD deals too get some more insulated pants for these recent cold ass days but everyone I know with FD was really happy with it. LDC is also supposed to be bomber, snowboarder buddy loves his. Honestly I'd go with whatever fits you best, and has the features you want at good value, most of these smaller brands have matured enough to fix all the kinks.

I've had two saga pants and both have torn down the middle... This newest pair after just a few days. I have no idea why.. I didn't even really do anything or fall. I am going to email them tonight to see what they say. Hopefully their customer service makes it worth it.

Glad you guys are stoked on our new gear! It's hard to beat our current 50-70% OFF all outerwear sale. If you ever have an issue with something you buy from us, we have a 1 year warranty on everything we make (but we usually extend this way longer than a year just to keep our customers happy).

May be a sizing issue or how you wear them? Could be putting more stress on the crotch area causing them to rip faster. If not, then that's extremely unfortunate.

Both of the companies have a great customer service and have their sales from %50-70 off you cannot go wrong with what your paying for the outerwear compared to the larger corporates. Just depends on personal preference.
