i was thinking about getting a saga jacket for next year. di you think the medium will fit?

Large would fit a bit baggy, but good. Get large.

XL in saga is huge, you'd probaly be overwhelmed. Unless you like it droop.

Saga XL is like XXL from anyone else, it's huge. Pants might be okay, but the jacket is... just humongous. It could fit one of those Tibetan yetis
