Saga Quality

yea yea wrong forum

but, Anybody else have problems with Saga's quality? I have an on-deck jacket that the zipper is ripped halfway out and my pants pockets all have holes in them. My change drops straight into my boot. And both of those are like almost brand new. I know I dont go that hard, so am i just unlucky or does Saga have bad quality?

Not trying to hate on Saga

I've had pretty bad luck when it comes to the on deck material and zipper but my anomie pants have held up the best out of any other ones I've worn.

Definitely not what I wanted to hear. I'm seriously considering a pair of the new Fatigue pants.

I'd wait for more opinions.. I haven't personally worn Saga, but I recommend waiting 24 hours to see what other people have to say...

Never worn saga jackets, but I've worn saga pants for the past 3 years and never had a problem with them. They keep me warm, the waterproofing is fantastic, they are durable, and they look great. Pretty much all I could ask for.

Just saw a pair of pants tonight (forgot which model) where the liner on the inside was sewn in twisted. Made it almost impossible to get your foot through without getting your foot caught and stuck.

shit happens for sure. That happened to me with an Under Amour jacket. I wouldn't discredit the whole company for that. Did they exchange them?

I discredit the whole company for other reasons, certainly not for these pants. And I work in the returns dept. for a company, so they were being returned to us from the previous customer.

The stitching on my saga hoody ripped excessively easily, arguably it could have been considered user fault but saga gave me a full refund, I simply removed the kangaroo pouch and it's been fine since.

My anomie is absolutely solid though

I've had numerous saga items, each for well over a year now and they are fine. Pretty much as new apart from a tiny bit of logo print cracking on my og logo softshell. I feel the quality of their gear is really good however obviously not all people feel the same.

My fatigue pants are holding up perfectly. Some minor cuts around the ankles but thats normal for pants without reinforcement. Very happy overall.

I have one of their new hoodies that incorporate the Saga-Tek stuff. Its warm and I love it, but it got a ton of piling in the first 2 times I wore it. I like Saga stuff, but they need to work on the overall little things in their gear such as breaking zippers, piling and such.

Just a suggestion, but maybe they should send a couple random pieces of their gear to buyers and/or Ns members a year, and ask them to give honest opinions on it and see whats wrong so they can improve it before they sell it to everyone vs. having a bunch of people be dissapointed.

tldr; Saga, work on little quality things to make buyers happier.

Same with the anomie, had no problems at all nothing's ripped or fallen off that I know of but overall I like the jacket and would recommend it to others.

We essentially do this. But instead of sending it to buyers and random people we have people within our company and certain team members that we know and trust to give honest and unbiased opinions ride in the gear. That being said There are so many items we make and not much time between rounds of samples and production start date that you only get a couple days to test stuff out before you have to submit changes. Even then there are problems that are outside of our control, i.e. twisted arm/leg liners. We are very strict with our factories and do everything possible to hold them to the highest standard possible. But sometimes shit happens and we do everything to rectify it and improve.

I got a hole in my on deck jacket In the arm lot when I sat down on an airplane. I explained my situation to the warranty department, and they sent a whole new coat to me

My anomie pants have been through hell and they are in perfect shape still but my jackets cinch broke a couple days after tightening it. Overall though, pretty reliable gear

To be honest, I don't really care about how sturdy the clothes are as long as the company is willing to give you refunds/ replacements (which it sounds like saga is doing). I have a saga jacket and its done me well thus far.

I've worn Saga my whole skiing career and never had a problem with quality. The only thing that's questionable is the waterproofing. It seems like my 3l anomie jacket and fatigue pants have the same waterproofing. But i've never had a problem with rips or tears. In fact, I use my old Saga jacket as a work jacket in the woods and it works amazingly.

I've had two saga suits, they have been really good, first suit I used for two winters skiing most days and my new suit has had 1 winter plus a few extra weeks. I wish they had wrist gaiters though.

Saga is legit

my 10/11 Anonie pants have over 120 days on them between myself and the last owner, and id feel confident giving them at least an 8.5/10 for condition.

If you get a product that is damaged, or something that obviously shouldn't happen does, talk to them. They have live chat on their website and email/phone as well. Let them know your situation, and I guarantee they will help in any way possible to keep you satisfied.

The quality is top notch, and would recommend it to any fellow skiers/riders.

yeah i have found the same. I got saga jacket and pants and the pants ripped within the first week of riding at the seem. although i did contact saga and they sent me out a new pair so cant complain there. but yeah i have found the quality to be pretty shitty. good designs but made with cheap materials.

Nah I have fatigues from this year. I don't get out a ton, I mean I've probably been out 7 times or so, but mine have held up fine. With that being said, I've had great luck with North Face pants too.

I have had at least 5 Saga hoodies over the years, a Monarch jacket, Varsity jacket, Drank pants, a Tuxedo jacket, a Coaches Jacket, and a pair of Fatigue pants. All of which have held up marvelously over the years.

in my opinion since 11/12 season there stuff has been going down in quality each year

My Saga has held up very well, bought some used saga pants and they have held up extremely well and i bought a new Saga Shut out last season and it too has not had a single problem. Fromm my experience Saga makes some well made gear.

Two pockets in my shut-out have holes, zipper is fucked, and seams are separating. Glad others are having problems also.

Volcom. their new stuff is amazing.

Saga Vest (Enlisted I think)

The zipper is god awful on it. - Good zippers are a must regardless if it is a budget product.

I've had multiple seams rips for no reason at all. The material has been good quality for a number of years though.
