This is my first year skiing and i can not land 3s i always end up corking out and i feel completely blind while spinning ive tried learning way forward when i start my rotation im just way to far back PLEASE HELP!!!

i think i have the same problem i get all the way around but when i land i land on my tails for some reason

I used to feel the same way. You're probably straining your head to look over your shoulder. Don't bother with this. It will only send you more off axis. Turn your head just a little bit, and your body will follow you. As for going off axis, try going into the jump with the shoulders relaxed and the shins up against the tongues of your boots and focus on setting the spin. Hopefully this helps. If not, here's a video:

When you throw your arm throw it slightly down. That helped me with 7's but I'm sure it will help with 3's too.

Yeah that's a great video, just square your shoulders, pop, look over your shoulder, and spot the shit of your landing. You should be doing 360's in no time!

learn the T-set.

just get in a normal upright position, with pressure on the front of your boots, at the lip of the jump, pop while setting the spin with your HIPS, not with your shoulders (this will keep your body moving together, rather than leaving your feet behind your upper body). Keep your eyes up, and come around to stomp it.

there's been a bunch of good advice, I just didn't read every single bit. sorry if there's been some repeat info in my post

The T-Set is key!Here's a video example:

Start by doing tons of these T-Set 360s, get really comfortable with them. When you want to start grabbing you do the exact same T-Set but you bring your legs up, still keeping your head and shoulders up. If you can get a really good basic T-Set down you'll have no problem moving onto bigger spins and different grabs and such.

First things first.....a 360 isn't a difficult trick. It helps to keep this in mind when learning it. Ie. Don't over think it.

You have a tendency to throw your arms around when doing it for the first time, petrified that you'll land at 270. Hot tip: landing at 270 doesn't result in any huge problem, so don't be scared of it.

Forward pressure seems to be one of your problems. You don't need to lean forward as such. Picture a quarter tucked into the tongue of your boot. You want enough pressure to keep it from falling down but not so much that it'll bruise your shin. That will prevent the lip from kicking you back.

A nice, solid pop at the lip will keep you upright. As you rotate your shoulders to get around and look for the landing, don't look too hard. You don't need to see the landing from 90 degrees into the spin. It will come around. Keep looking for it but don't get yourself into a twist. Try to keep your hands in front of you if possible. It'll help you from falling back and will keep your posture correct.

Keep practising it. It gets easier and easier until you realise you don't need to throw it hard at all. Everything becomes pretty smooth. Good luck!

Sparknotes: Pop -> set -> look -> relax.

make sure your feet are shoulder width apart, stay center in your weight, set your shoulders. When you reach the lip, turn your hips, shoulders and head. You will spin the rotation doing this. The next part is spotting your lading. For my first 3s of the season, it took awhile for me to get that haha. You don't need ot look with your head the entire way. Just when you get to 360, look down. There is your landing.
Some things that may happen include spinning too far, not spotting your landing and going to flat, and going into the jump either too fast or too slow. You only need enough speed to clear the jump, don't go too fast.
Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes.

Do them on trampoline, you need to work on your air sense. If you can do them on trampoline and feel comfortable you'll be able to do them on snow, that goes with any other basic forward rotation (not cork, rodeo, bio etc). Also if you're having trouble even on trampoline watch where your arms and shoulders are being thrown, if your shoulders are pointing off axis you'll go off axis.

Keep pressure on the tongues of your boots when taking off. Don't spin your head or throw your arms or anything like that. It's a 360 not a 1080, so you don't have to pre-load the spin or anything. Start spinning by turning your HIPS and SHOULDERS, and let your head turn with your shoulders. In the air, keep your upper body turned in the direction of the spin so you will be able to spot your landing.

If you land backseat, you probably took off backseat.

It's a three there is not much to it, a while ago I discovered if the jump is too small and you really have to huck the three it makes it much harder. Find a nice medium size jump and just try to float it.
