can salomon s912 ps bindings be mounted without the lifter... they look exactly like TI's so, it seems like it could be done, but it looks like TI's might have their own heel piece... would a shop be able to set up the PS like the TI's?

i got my sister these bindings and some v-expressions for xmas, and i want to get them mounted soon. would have just got TI's, but i got these for $100 brand new.

You're talking about the lifter that joins in the middle and supposed to provide a more consistent ski flex or something along those lines, right? I think they can be mounted without it, or at worst you can trade the lifters for a pair of AXE+ lifters, which aren't really lifters at all. Or try to see if you can get the lifters from a pair of 914FIS bindings, which basically amount to nothing.

you should be able to take the lifter off no problem. what the issue is the SCREW LENGTH. the screws with the bindings factor in the length of the lifter. As long as you can get new screws in the right height, then pulling the lifter should be no issue, so long as the binding doesnt have some weird ass shape where it connects to the lifter (it its not FLAT plastic to ski contact)

Siver Cartel

Orage

Powder

Armada

Dynastar

so then the only issue should be screw length? That's super easy to solve. Ski shops have tons of extra hardware. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, you can do it, cuz i did too. there are actually 2 sets of screws... one for the lifter to the ski, and one for the binding to the lifter...so you may not even need to get another set of screws...

their exactly right

i always take the lifters out of mine

just make sure you take it to a place that knows what they are doing.

and yes screw length is the biggest factor to worry about.

alright, cool... the main reason i was asking is cause the TI's do have SOMETHING under the heel piece. whereas if you took the lifter off the PS, there would be nothing between the heel piece and the ski.
