Rusty handrails

this year ive decided i want to make an effort to hit alot of urban. It seems as if every good rail i find has atleast a small rusty spot, to a good amount of rust. And the rail i most exited to hit happens to be a high consequense drop rail so if i go flying forward because of rust im gona get destroyed.

so in everyones experience does the rust really mess you up? Whats it feel like? and should i bring a file or some kind of tool to try and smooth rusty spots out? I noticed that all the boxes copings at the mountain have some rust on them and slide fine, so will it be the same on handrails?

i doubt it slides the same i dont really ski urban but i do ride street on bikes and wen i hit urban rust is mad stickyy so i would waxxeem up or file it off

on down rails you don't even notice it, on a flat rail where your bases are in contact you can feel a bit of drag, especially if you don't have a lot of speed, but you can slap some wax on that bitch and it will slide just fine.

just don't hit an aluminum rail. guaranteed death.

lies about aluminum rails... you just need to know how to use your edges... and same for wooden rails. edge work is the key to every thing.

hahahhahahahahhahahahhahahhahahaha shut up

if you have edges and hit an aluminum rail you are going to get thrown fucking hard, not to mention it doesn't slide. if you tear all the edges out of your skis you can slide them. trust me, i've tried, it doesn't work. show me footy of you sliding an aluminum rail...

wooden rails are an entirely different game, you can hit them with skis that have edges, especially if it's really cold, just watch out for nails/screws.
