World cup is almost here. Where are the NS soccer fans? What are your predictions and who are you rooting for?

Will Messi get his World Cup? Will Germany be able to win two in a row? Will Brazil win thier sixth? Any underdogs to watch for?

I have France winning and as long as Mexico loses in spectacular fashion I'll be happy.

France couldnt beat the young US team.

I saw one odds maker had Italy at a 1.7% chance to win it... I hope someone was supid enough to take that bet

Why are we surprised that Russia harbours racist elements? Russia is one of the most racist countries in the world, having derogatory expressions for Muslim persons for decades and little tolerance for others of non-Russian origin. It is nothing new for Russia-long a xenophobic country in cultural thought and in acceptance of foreign persons. FIFA as an organization has a history of corruption, poor judgement and a total focus on the organization making money. It is a sad commentary on international football that Russia is going to host the games for 2018. According to data fromhttp://yourhomeworkhelp.org/do-my-statistics-homework/ this may be the last FIFA outing before the world recognizes that countries do not need a FIFA for their football activities-certainly not a corrupt entity.

France has too much talent to not be a contender, but if you can't beat a young US side, you can't win the World Cup. Gotta root for the Egyptian King Salah and Iceland tho

Salah is out thanks to Ramos

Holy shit.

Stopped watching the Russia match in like the 88th minute when it was all wrapped up at 3-0 and then all of a sudden it ends 5-0?

Saudis legit must have just given up at that point. wow.

I did the same and those goals could matter in goal differential in the group stage too.

KSA was pretty lousy the whole game and really broke down at the end, yeah

5th goal was a nasty free kick though

Robbie Williams is such a kook hahaha cant wait to hear what excuse he plays.

my moneys on Germany

I feel like there has been just awful, or at the very least, unlucky finishing in this world cup so far...

A team will have seemingly ALL the shots, and ALL the possess, and then still flame out. Germany is a prime example. Over 20 shots, still lost to Mexico. Brazil, same thing.

Argentina made a ton of chances as well, and couldn't find enough space around Icelands back 4, so I'll give that one up to good defense taking away shooting lanes. Iceland played remarkably, but the others had clinical chances that should have been gimmies.

Hell, Iran was gifted 3 points from an own goal after being on their back heels to Morocco pretty much the whole match. Russia and Spain are the only teams to show routine ability to finish (Portugal not so much... they were an iffy penalty given, and a goalkeeper mistake away from getting absolutely humped by Spain's tiki taka in that match)

I mean Mexico's counterattacks were vicious and they had a lot of energy compared to the Germans. When Mexico had a chance they brought it hard, they deserved that win.

I blame ramadan

Only really entertaining match has been Spain - Portugal imo. There have been other matches that were alright, but wouldn't really ever want to see them again

Looks like Russia will beat Egypt. Will make it out of the group stage. There all on steroids if history has anything to say about it. I've seen icarus.

Also I just ran across this, kinda makes you think about who's making these decisions

Bleh. Pretty depressing, but definitely not shocking considering it was planned by some combination of FIFA and the russian government... not exactly the most stand-up folks

that said, im enjoying the russian's style of play. not that theyve had particularly tough opponents so far but still

I don't think germany is that good this year, Brazil isn't really playing as one team, but more each for his own so maybe it's gonna be someone unexpected

It would be dope if Iceland wins

A lot of unexpected results.... I mean thats what the WC is all about, it would be pretty dope to see Argentina not make it past group stages

fox sports app has 1:30 highlight reels for each game. do you have a tv subscription that would let you use that app?

I feel youtube is best... search for whatever game you are trying to see the recaps and then try to find one thats between 5-10 min...

i might have to do that, i was just hoping for an all in one recap that spoon feeds you the matchups so i dont even really have to look up who was playing that day. yes, i know im being super lazy about this.

I use the onefootball app. It's good. I follow a lot of soccer and it covers all the leagues and the world cup coverage has been real well

Argentina got steamrolled today. Messi nowhere to be found. Definitely a weaker than I'd anticipated this time around...

Pretty upset with Germany's performance against Mexico, even though we did dominate the pitch and had 20+ shots on goal. Just could never finish. Hopefully that Mexico match was a huge wakeup call to the Germans and they get back on their game. Löwe im sure is deep in their asses for a showing that they gave last week. I see us making it out of group, but taking second, and then if i read the brackets correctly that would put us against Brazil in round of 16. Going to be a tough battle for the Germans to make it to the finals. If Germany doesn't make it to atleast semi's there will be hell to pay from the people.

Germany just proved why they're #1. That goal in the 95th minute off the free kick sure was pretty.

They should have won by 4 or 5 realistically. Sweden had some good counters but Germany was just better.

That free kick was nasty.

I agree. I dont know what the hell is going on in the minds of the Germans so far. That second half they DOMINATED the field and again had a ridiculous amount of shots on goal but stll pulled out about a 20 something shot on goal percentage. That free kick was nasty not going to lie, and it Sweden had some good defense. South Korea should be an easy win for the Germans but its going to be a very tough road ahead of us to get to the finals again.

How did no one mention Belgium to win the wc so far? Belgium seriously was the only big team to perform proper in both matches. They have an incredible team which has well developed over the past years. Pretty stoked to see them play against England tomorrow., since imo they're the two strongest team at the wc so far
