Russ Henshaw Dew Tour score

is it just me or was anyone else thinking that he should have gotten top three?

Russ always gets the lower score on a constant basis and i think that it has cost him some comps over the last couple years.

I dont know man. I think the judges were expecting a lot technical wise this year after all of the triples everyone was pulling off. People don't know that as the sport grows more and more, pushing the sport will become harder and harder

his jumps were sick but rails were pretty safe...

more importantly, why didnt gus podium because his run was fucking gnarly

The one who got the most robbed was Gus.... Check this run out:

He should, in my humble opinion at least be top 3 ranked.

it sucks that he got underscored but remember that he's only been skiing for 3 weeks since his knee reconstruction, there's a lot more to come from him

Well, because it really looked like he played it safe !!! All his tricks where crazy, but there wasn't as crazy as other's runs !!!

I really think that Gus should have got a better score, but it is how all the competitions are.

Russ run was really good and clean but he 's just not fun to watch. He does the big tricks but they are not impressive to see, also his bs 630 was horrible even if it was clean. Russ needs at least a little flavor on his tricks if he wants to podium.

yeah that was definitely worthy of a top 3. wallisch was smooth you cant deny him that but second or third no doubt

odd watching the announcing and hearing them talk about how is runs usually get underscored, and then 10 seconds later watching him get massively underscored. SMH

nobody speaks abput alex schlopy´s run? the 4 1260s i think, that was super techincal, eventhough it wasn´t super stomped, but i think he also should´ve got a better position

Gus needs to stop doing the same grab everytime he spins to the right... stop with that shitty reverse tail and start use the left hand, then you will be on the podium.

gus top 3, no questions asked.you put anyone with a different name with that run and they'd be shitting their pants on the podium, straight up.

I don't understand why you think this, Gus tends to be a liked person throughout the community...

Maybe the judges listened to the 1000000 14 year olds whining about how style should get more points and would have voted a gorilla steeze pant-shitting 50-50 better than an 810 on

I don't get how im holding a grudge? I think you're a bit confused. I said his run was good, actually i said it was flawless....

Heath and Gus have been going at it since Gus made it onto the scene. Shit got real when Gus had some coc interview and the interviewer asked about the hate he has been getting on ns in particular from Heath and Gus just pretty much said "yea idk I don't really like that guy or something," and the interviewer agreed with him. Since then Heath has held a grudge on Gus, even though he will prob quote me saying this isn't true and he respects Gus as a person but just doesn't like his stye. Yea thats about all I remember.

I'm kind of going to have to agree a nit. I think Tom deserved to win because his run was the best overall. He had good style on all his tricks and stomped them all, and he he had good tech, like the right sw dub 10, which he stomped. I don't think the scoring gap should have been as big as it was though. The top 5ish runs should have all been within the same range of a couple points. They were all really good. I'm not going to get too pissed with the judges though. This was a hard comp to judge because these guys were all throwing down sick runs.

ok now this is going to sound very not-picky to all you guys...

buut switch right 10 opp blunt (sloppy) and right 9 opp blunt are way too similar of tricks to be doing in such a high profile of a contest. needs to at least switch grabs, they're pretty much the same rotation.

and i definitely agree with the hate on the 810...it's a rail feature not a jump feature.

By saying that Gus is generally liked in the skiing community, you're discrediting the argument that his public rapport could have hampered his run's score. Therefore, you're implying that his score was derived solely from the merit of his skiing, which according to you must clearly be sub-par.

Or, you were just being contrarian and argumentative as usual, either way I maintain that you tend to hold grudges.

Good day sir!

His skiing was flawless but he did less difficult tricks than tom, thats all I said. If you're just trying to troll me then whatever but I have nothing against gus and he get better every year, shit slope and pipe finals? fucking impressive.

I agree 100%. When he finished his run I was like "Holy shit podium for sure" and he got what, 5th or 6th? Bullshit. I thought it was on par with Tom's run.

so wait, when vanuluar, candide, and andreas all did "jump tricks" on and off rails/boxes and won TRICK OF THE YEAR!, we were all mistaken by praising them then and now its not tech/cool? i spoke with sammy the other day about his x game run, agreed his 4 on 6 out was one of the tricks that helped boost his score (jump trick?). i still maintain, gus should have been on the podium.

We weren't mistaken praising those tricks. But that was then; this is now. Candide did an 810 to rail in 2004. The fact that it was trick of the year almost 8 YEARS AGO should be a hint that it's not progressive, and it seems reasonable to judge tricks at least in part on how progressive they are. In my humble opinion, all of the canon boxes and gaps to boxes--boxes, not rails--are kind of corny. I'd rather see people throw down with some true rail game (like Casabon at the X-games last year), instead of just landing jumps on metal, or doing jumps off of metal. Would you like to see more B&E or Stept crew-style rail skiing in comps, or would you rather see big spins and flips off of rails? Should the trick of the year this year be a 1290 or a double onto a rail?

The point they are trying to prove is that gus barely landed on the rail, seeming like him doing a big spin while tapping a rail.
That being said i think gus should have gotten 3rd, geoppers run was crazy, 4 doubles? nuts
but wallisch was by far the smoothest competitor of the day with really tech tricks. definitely deserved the win
