Running is Under-used

recently I’ve been jogging to class randomly- not running gear or short shorts or whatever, but it’s not what most people are doing- walking. It got me thinking about the times I would book-it home in grade school after a Friday class; excited to hop on the Xbox or go biking.

thinking about it, running is super useful for cutting down the time it takes to get places- not just for exercise (which is an added bonus)

I can’t come up with any other reason for why this isn’t meta except for judgement and laziness. I know not everyone can just “run” for extended periods of time, but for those who “can” and “arnt” it’s kinda weird to think that they don’t.

thoughts?

So we're talking about just running everywhere in day to day life? I like it. Everyone just start booking it everywhere.

Being sweaty all the time

But I like it, when I go to the grocery store later I am going to run the entire time, it's a Sunday so it should be super crowded, wish me luck.

hmm, idk about cutting lines making you smarter than anyone bruh

If you still do this, then I hope you're 12, because it'd mean you still have time to grow up and avoid turning into a shitty person.

Running is cool but could have said that instead. "Idk why everyone is lazy".

Nobody cares if you run home or hit the gym. Run 10 miles every day or eat cookies and play xbox.

That's why bikes, skateboards, cars, trucks, busses, trains and airplanes exist, because walking is slow.

gotta go fast

fr tho running when you have to carry things sucks and its nice to just walk sometimes and take it in. Throw in some music vibe and appreciate the details like the sun on your face or people watch

Would be relatable for them uni kids on the grind. I mean, other students in my class have to walk further from the parking lot than I do from my apartment (got luck). So I guess I left out some context in the post**

used to do that too

take your eyes off the prize for one second next thing you know you've got a moonface bouncing off your windshield

If you crash you just can’t hang. Simple

Getting around with a bike in a densely populated area is convenient af. I wish bike theft was less of an issue in the city cause my current commuter/gravel bike is way too nice to leave outside anywhere and I just bring it inside at work. I often just skate to grocery shop and put my board and backpack in the cart.

I know a guy who used to buy $20 burner bikes. Replaced it when it got stolen. Obviously depends where ya live but I’ve considered this

Facebook marketplace is great for this, shit bike + cheap D-lock is rarely gonna get stolen (in most places). You can't just walk away with it but isn't worth breaking the lock to get the bike.

Usually if it's a place where I can't secure my nice bike I just take the train and skate to and from the station. I've used bikes I got from the dump as burners but the elbow grease needed to make them nice stings a lot more than $20 when they get stolen. I'll prob use one as a burner next time I find something good at the dump.
