Is there any shuttles this season? I know RAL has cancelled theirs so it looks like we’ll be on that hitchhiking time.

I'd love to go back their or make it to work at Thredbo, but I doubt either country is going to give my American ass a work visa right now. Bummer.

What kind of setup are they doing? It looks like A lot of the mtns in Australia aren't doing season passes and are doing some weird shit with day tickets and capacity.

Perisher said they're gonna build a park still.

Hoping Tim, Kris and the rest of the boys put some cool shit together at Turoa.

Thredbo is an absolute mess right now. No season pass. 30k+ people, at times, in an online queue to book tickets for the season. The other resorts are just having season pass members pre-book certain dates. I just can’t fathom why anyone would subject themselves to this over an epic pass.

Damn that sucks. I'm pretty sad I can't come down. Even if I couldn't snowboard as an employee I'd still go just to work and hit the skatepark. Hopefully next June I'll be back down there. good luck. Hope you get some good snow days when you make it up. It's wild shit.

Somebody need to build a 2 linear feature backyard setup in jindy to keep the stoke alive.

Thredbo is still giving employees passes, there's just a chance that weekends will be blacked out. Many places are scrambling since a lot of staff is from abroad so 1) they are understaffed 2) they have to operate on less staff because of COVID 3) they have to cut staff accommodations down to as little as 25% of previous capacity. I interviewed recently with Buller, Thredbo, and Charlotte Pass and they all said the same.

Epic season pass is on sale until end of June. The only stipulation is you need to pre-book from opening until July 13. After that, it's unlimited. I think I will be buying the epic pass.

Sorry you didn't make it in man. I just got lucky because I was already here. I'm curious how many other foreign workers will be down there with me.

True yeah, even if the world had shut down later I would have still been working in California. Oh well. Still holding on that small chance of going down in august to keep the sadness at bay on dark summer nights. But prolly not till next year.

Also I can only imagine the situation with trying to find a place to live. Although who knows, prolly less places getting booked in Jindy. Could always live down there and hitch it up. Actually fuck, you prolly can't hitch. Damn. lol.

NZ ski season is so random atm. Prices are going up for less services, massive lack of services. NZTA wants to close all alpine roads on any sign of snow. It’s fucked. Idk bout the park at turoa, just hoping for some good snow, last season was abysmal

I’m actually really tempted to go work down south in Aud this season, but it’ll overlap with uni, and I haven’t payed my Csia dues. I have $500 to my name, an assignment due on Tuesday, and I’m about to start a new job. What’s it to say fuck it and go work?
