The problem with the Scimitar is that it has about 18inches of effective edge (slight exaggeration...but only slight). When you put those things together almost no of the tip and tail touch each other. Combine that with the fact that most people detune/ruin the edge underfoot and you lose just about all control with those edges on hardpack/ice. This is why they changed the ski (the "u-turn" rocker Scimitar only lasted 1 season) and gave it some camber underfoot, to help give you some control and more effective edge. I would go with the Slat, it'll be just as soft and fun as the Scimitar but more skiable (especially if you want to take them off 60ft jumps, you'll want some sort of stable landing platform).
