yea, ok, The only problem with the breaking scratch was the first ever model, so apparently they're sweet now, have you got you heart set on these skis? coz there are better, im not saying you have to go Armada or wat ever, even Other Lines but there are better skis that the mike nicks, but no disrespect....

what are u gonna be skiing, park? whats your ability, what are u looking for in the ski? do u want it to be softer or stiffer?

'. . . eat every herb of the land ' (Exodus 10:12)

'Better is a dinner of herb where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith' (Proverbs 15:17)

“He Causeth the Grass to Grow for the Cattle, and Herb for the Service of Man” (Psalm 104:14)

depending on how big u are the 171 nicks could be really small and only limit you to the park, i think a wider and longer ski is better for everything, my cousin is like 130 lbs and 5'5'' and he rides the 182 scratch BCs for park and every thing and he loves em to death

I'm 5'10' and I'm just gettin off the Mike's, at the end of last season i was finding them a little small in the tail. i wanted something a little more centered for better skiing fakie, don't get me wrong, they're not bad or naything, but it could be better. Personaly i give props to the skogen cause they're fatter and closer to the center, but if it's either the MN's or the scratches I'd say scratches.

Yeah i'm like 6'something and i weight about 160 sp yeah i would probably need a bigger ski. I'm gonna be dooing lotsa park and i also do big mountain stuff (i would go for scratch bc's but i have a low budget right now and i know theyre only like $50 more but yeah i have no more money right now and it will take me awhile to get another $50 its kinda sad)so yeah the scratch fs would proably be better

either way get the scratch for sure. i have both and ride the scratch all the time on the mountain and use the mn for rails & crap outside the mountain. i don't find the mike nick to be as fun a ski to ride as the scratch 174.

I ride the 170 AR5 and love it. today I tried the 174 Scratch FS and it was really different,no matter what people say about Armada's and Scratches being alike. They were not as soft as noodles(Elans..) but an easy, rider friendly ski, that flexed a lot around places. I bombed the hill as wella strying some butters and it seemed fine for park, but maybe for someone who rides hard it's not the right ski. Go with Volkl,Armada or K2 if you want to be able to RIDE,not just bounce around.
