Rossignol s7

i have and the best i can give is a somparison to jj's as i only had them for a couple runs

basically if ur not doing any jibbing, the s7's are a better pow stick. the pin tail and tapered design is like tht of the pontoons but in a smaller, more pronounced scale. also they are fatter at the nose. they just seem to slarve and surf the pow really well similar to the feeling of an arg.

on groomers i wouldnt rate them as highly as a jj. they just dont seem to have the oomph like a jj on piste. there still very surprisingly good on groomers (better than helllbents) but thhey dont seem to snap as well.

for charging in variable these are the bomb. they're are full sidewall construction with a solid flex underfooot and they just dont seem to want to stop. they love the speeed. the only problem is the tip does chatter a fair bit, a lot more than jj's but u cant feel it at all if u dont look at ur skis. i think this may be from the sidewall in the nise but i dont know.

yeh so over all they are a sick pow/ big mountain/ all mountain ski for someone whos not that into jibbing and loves the off piste.

i rode the 188's and i can compare them only to jj's, they ski short but they seem more charging oriented than jj's. i loved these skis, they were fucking amazing, i just got jj's because i was gonna be putting dukes on them and they weight about 3 lbs less than s7'sjj's are fine with going forwards or backwards, they seem indifferent whereas s7's definitely want to go forwards. so they will have a less jibby feel than jj's

what he said. if you are looking to buy some, i have the rossi scratch steeze, which are practically the same ski. same dimensions and everything. let me know if you are interested

Wow, this statement couldn't be any farther from the truth. Let's compare dimentions, Scratch steeze 185: 140-110-133. S7 145-115-123. Steezes are a regular camber and side cut ski, while the s7 is a revese side cut (with some normal side cut underfoot) and rockered tip and tail.

Now I understand that you may have misread s7 for s6, which is identical to the steeze, but with different graphics.

Bumping the thread, im deciding between the s6 and s7 and am unsure what to get. I really love the sound of the s7 just kinda wish it was a little better switch. If someone has who has rode this could tell me... would the s7 be good for BC jibbing/ jumping or would you go with the s6 for that

Ya, S6 and Steeze are same ski.

S6 is your traditional (like a hellbent) sidecut and zero rocker. S7 gives you the rocker and the reverse sidecut (except underfoot). If you're looking for a bigass pow ski that is like a regular ski, go for the S6. If you're looking for the new-fangled rocker thingy...go with the S7. Skied them both, like them both, have an S7 and an S5.

The S7 is a similar ski to the Armada JJ and ON3P BillyGoat. It takes the benefits of rocker and taper combined with camber underfoot to create a more versatile ride.

Definitely one of the more versatile rockered skis about these days. Its mounted more traditionally than the JJ and while still twin tipped, definitely more directional that the JJ. From looking at the Billy Goat specs it looks like it will be a similar ski.

Here are some links to some discussion of the ski over on TGR. It's not that common over here since its mounting position is much less centered than skis like the JJ and less BC jib orientated, but it still performs well for this type of skiing.

It's been getting good reviews as a ski that is sick in soft deep snow but is still manageable all over.

If you like the look of the S7 but want something that is better for switch get the Armada JJ. S7's are fine for BC jibbing, but its a bit more directional and mounted more traditionally than a JJ. Personally i would go for a S7 or JJ over the S6 but thats just me.

watch sage ski in TGR's under the influence or re:session.

sage slays dragons. sage skis s7s. therefore s7s slays dragons. or maybe the other way around.

Sage Cattabriga-Alosa Review:

Well I spent all most all of last year riding

on the S7, once I clicked in I was hooked

on this fun, versatile, ski. I really liked the

way that this ski can handle a wide range

of terrain and snow conditions. It excels

in all forms of powder, but can carve a

nice turn on the groomer, handles gnarly

trails like the High traverse at Alta no

problem, and blasts through crud and

chunder. The ski allows you to slash and

swivel turns in new ways and makes for

some creative skiing all over the mountain.

I mounted my skis on the +3 line, (3cms)

and had improved tail support when

landing airs or recovering from the back

seat.
