I bent both brakes on my bindings, put them back together except for the springs that go under the brakes. HOW THE FUCK DO THEY GO BACK IN????!?!?!? I put the binding in the vice and put the spring over top of the place where it goes, then I took a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and started hammering away. I asked the ski shop who's going to mount my bindings if they could do it, they're going to charge me $60 just to put the springs back in. How do I put them back in?
 
i use the pole i used to bend the brakes. it fits nicely around the whole spring. i give it a couple taps with something heavy and it slides in nicely. ive also used the back of a screwdriver in a similar, chizling way. the pole is more consistent i find. thats definitely one of the most difficult steps in the whole fks bending process id say.
 
how hard do i have to be hammering and what other stuff do i have to know before i go and how long will it take.
 
just take a flathead and shove it in. Put the heelpiece on the corner of a table or work bench to hold in place and then try and get one side of the spring lodged in there first. Then choose a good angle and shove the other side in. It's super easy
 
okay, this is how you do it

put the loop of the spring area where it is supposed to be, pressing on the actual break pad

((Notice this is before the baseplate is on))

The two ends of the spring will still be there

what you do is tuck one of the ends up where it would naturally be while the binding is together

then while holding together(the baseplate to the bottom) knock the plate back together. (easily done by placing the tabs next to where they go in and tap the plate to lock the tabs.

put the spring in last then take a blunt object like a chisel to put more surface area on the spring then pound it in with a hammer.
 
Yeah. Have someone hold them on the edge of a table facing out, so the brakes arent touching the side, and can hinge closed a little (this allows you to actually get the spring in - they can't be totally locked open). Then I take a socket screwdriver the size-ish of the coils, so its round and won't slip off, and hammer that. All you need is to get one leg in. Then hammer a little more until the other pops in place.
