Hey theres a dope deal on some scratches at a store here. They only have size 174 and im 130lbs and 5'7 are these too bid if I center mount them.

Would you reccomend core or true center

at 5'7" you should be on like 165 approx. so i would say that they're alittle big.. but if your growing by next season they should be good
 
yeah theyll be perfect. im the same size and ride last years 174s plus center mounting them will make them feel shorter
 
what are the disadvantages of longer skis. I would be center mounting them I ride like 60/40 park/everything else
 
its really preference, i hate short skis, they are really squirlly, not the bigggest landing platform, some kids will tell you they are easier to spin, w/e just grow a sack
 
Longer/heavier/increased swingweight/harder to manouver

i wouldnt centremount if you are 60/40 either
 
k im on 160s now if it helps. But they are not even close to center.

Where should i mount like 2 cm back then?
 
candide mounts his at -4 so he cant be wrong.

simply put dont mount yuor ski where they arent supposed to be or they will ski like shit
 
is that 4 cm because if i mount 168s 4 back there wont be a whole lot of tail im assuming. I dunno im so torn between sizes. arggggg. When I'm not skiing the park I usually do tree glade runs if that helps at all
 
i had my old 168cm scratches mounted at the modern line(7cm back from true center). i wanted more tail so decided to go with 174s for my new set and i mounted them -2 from true center. i havent noticed anything negative about doing so. the skis dont feel longer when riding normally(although they are a bit wider than my old set), swing wieght hasnt changed and i would actually say the further up mounting makes spinning easier, and switch landing and riding is definitly easier than before.

i dont think making the jump from 160 to 174 will be too hard to adjust to. and if your still growing that will give you some ski to grow into as well.
 
I mounted mine 2cm back of center. they are fantastic, I love them, and if I could, I would have hot steamy ski sex with them...
