Rossi scratch 140 bindings worth to use?

Hey guys, just getting back into the sport and curious of my old Rossi scratch 140 bindings are still worth it to try and use or just too dated (10 years old this year). I really liked them when I got them but not sure if I should upgrade.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

If the heel piece looks like the one in the pic..... you need new bindings. If they are the axial version of the scratch, you might be ok.

Axial version... make sure the heel piece doesn't wiggle from side to side, a sign of wear and overuse. Also check that the plastic tips on the toe wings aren't chipped or cracked. Let your shop ultimately decide if the old bindings are still up to par.

They look like this (please excuse my lack of knowledge)

I would say it is time to spring for new ones then, They don't make brakes for those anymore, not even sure if they are still indemnified (don't have my list in front of me). Those were the old turntable style heels.

I would suggest some pivot 14s or Salomon STH 13.... one of those two. If you really shred hard then get pivot 18, or STH 16. But keep in mind that the lowest din setting on those two is a bit high for most folks.

Tyrolia has the Attack binding if you don't want to break the bank.

Oh wait, sorry man. I didn't see your link that you threw in there. If they have the axial style heel then they are probably good (especially if you haven't been using them every year hard) That link you put up was and axial version, though you quoted my first post with the pic of the old orange and black binding.

Also, any binding that old should be tested after being remounted. I have seen a lot of older Axial heels release at higher torque values after sitting for a number of years. I just had to throw that in there... for safety, gotta stay safe out there.
