Awesome video. He pretty much invented every flip trick know to man. This guy is way more influential to skateboarding than tony hawk for sure

that looks exactly like what i did in tony hawk's pro skater to get 1 million point combos.
funny video though

Interesting fact: Mullen's dad wanted him to be a dentist like he was and thought that skateboarding was childish and just a temporary thing. But, when Rodney was just learning, the boards being made at that time were too wide to do the pogos, flips, and grabs that he was trying to throw down on flat ground. So, he used his dad's tools to cut his boards in a way that made them resemble something like the double kick tail model we're used to today and he'd practice all his moves in his barn/garage. The dude's actually really smart to. Went to college and has a degree in engineering, I believe. Props to "The Mutt" for being so kick ass!

-Moral of the story: Thank God skiing's been around long enough so that we don't have to completely alter our skis to make them able to jibb the shit out of stuff!

Anybody remember that segment he had where, instead of music, it just had an extract of A Brief History of Time? I still think of Stephen Hawking every time I see Rodney skate.

3 things I love about that video:

1 No Mistakes for almost 4 minutes straight

2 Flip Tricks that are still considered hard, but on a flat board

3 The noises that the audience makes

haha i loved the short shorts and high whites. Rodney's for sure the most talented/influential skateboarder off al time though

Per Welinder. He was the only skater to ever beat Rodney in his competition days. Type his name in Youtube and check out the first few vids that pop up. I still think Mullen's got him topped.

somehow he managed to get the perfect balance cheat code to life.

I think Rodney Mullen is more comfortable on a skateboard than I am on my feet.

The dude is insane and I believe he sold he soul for these skills hahahaha. Definitely the most influential skater of all time. Also, he has for sure reached GOAT status.
