Ya so this weekend im gona prolly try my first rodeo 5 and ive watched a million dif videos on here of people doing them so i think i know the motion and how to throw it. The only problem/concern for me is i dont have a tramp or divingboard to learn and practice them on so im kindof just gona go for it. So can anyone give me some instructions/tips/pointers or anything on how to do them? There pretty easy right by the lookes of them right? And im prolly trying on a 40-50 footer

thanks yous

just throw in between a lincoln loop and a backflip. if you throw it right, it should bring you to about 450, where you can spin the last bit on axis. is there NO WAY you can try it before?

in the "ask turpin" cult there is a huge thread on this, youll probably find whatever your looking for in there

They're not bad once you get the hang of them. You can either throw them like a true rodeo (more flip) or more like a flat 5 (more spin). Figure out which one you'd be more comfortable with and just go for it. Visualize it in your head, put on some music, and go for it. Don't think about it too much or over-analyze it. Get a good solid pop, set your rotation, stay calm and hold your position in the air, spot your landing mid-way through, and stomp it. Jason Arens throws a couple rodeo 5's off of the knuckle of a jump at Alpine Meadows in this https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/viewvideo/id/266323/ from Alpine Meadows. Watch how he spots his landing. Good luck and have fun.

throw your arms diagonally up and left if thats the way you spin and and dip your shoulder( and dont look straight back, obviously you know to look in the direction of your spin but if you think about doing it, it really helps) and other than that it is a backflip. if you wind up right its not much harder than a back flip

I'd try them on a 30-35 foot jump your first time. When I was learning them, it was really hard to not overrotate if I got much air.

pop that shit hard. i see a lot of people just try to fall off the lip because they are scared and over set the flip. just pop hard and set your spin, if you commit, your feet will end up under u even if u set it a little wrong. just visualize, pop and set

duude. thats not how to rode... you throw it forwards.. drop your right shoulder in between frontflip and licoln.. kick your legs up and roll over your shoulder.

the key to doing a rodeo five is wearing the right clothes.
if you are reppin some sweet threads, you will rotate perfectly.

so i first tried them 2 weekends ago at mount snow, it was interesting. you just set POP then keep your head going. I made the mistake not keeping my head going and landed kinda on my head. Oh well. The first one i tried I did rodeo 5 and fell short on my side, but the next one i set really hard and spun a rodeo 9 (woops...)...anyway just make sure you commit and POP off the take off. try off a smaller jump. 45-50 is large
