ROCKER VS. CAMBER

i live in the east where its icy. I've only ridden camber skis. there are skis that i would think about getting but they're rocker. i know in the ice, rocker isn't the best but i am thinking about trying it.

just incase you need to know, i ride park and glades.

if its a repost, don't get your panties in a knot.

NS, i am asking for suggestion/your take on rocker skis in the ice.

if your from the east, think snow!

You don't need a rocker'd ski. I'd say a flat camber ski, like some of the new K2 park skis, could be something fun to try.

I ski the east coast too man and I've got rockered all mtn. skis so its not like I'm in the park all the time and they aren't too bad. mind you they aren't the most heavily rocketed skis in the world.

I heard people don't like that.

I'm not sure how it is in NY, but in NJ it's usually fake and then ice. Until i try it for awhile, i'd have a hard time giving up full camber and a skinnier ski.

With rocker, since the tip and tail both aren't touching the ground, it gives you less effective edge when carving, making it easier to start a tighter turn. On ice, this is not always ideal, although it does allow you to ride a long ski since it skis like a shorter ski. Camber ensures that when you step into your bindings and put pressure on the middle of your ski the entire length of your ski is contacting the surface. Thus, harder to initiate turns but more stability at speed. Hope this helps.

i ride ice all the time and i got a full rockered ski. not gonna lie, it sucks to ski out of the park, but in the park its fucking amazing.

I think prophets would be great for you then, cause they're stiffer and a hybrid between rocker and camber. Rocker is nice for blasting through anything other than ice.

In the park, prophets aren't going to do too well. For a line ski, I'd reccommend the blend, but there are tons of other rocker/camber/rocker park skis that would do well. Namely:
On3p filthy rich/jeronimo
Salomon twenty-twelve
Moment vice
armada halo
K2 recoil
klint prime
various others.

New rossi sickle is fun, and one of the more all mtn/all condition friendly fully rockered skis I've seen... has a fairly mild rocker so you still put down a full edge on hardpack/ice

I'm looking for the same type of ski as the OP. I might possibly move out west within the near future though so I'd probably want something a little wider underfoot and I could just deal with it for awhile while I'm still on the EC.

What is your guys opinions on the Moment Belafonte? It looks awesome if you ask me.

A little help on length too, I'm 6'3" 205ish pounds. For referance, if I did decide to buy the Belafonte, it comes in a 174, 182 and a 192. I know 174 would be too small, as that's what I'm riding right now and it IS too small. What would the best size out of those 3 be for me?
