not 100 percent but my friend claims he saw K2's next season's line of skis and said the publics are not in their line up for 08/09 but said that it will be replaced by the "extreme' which he said was its replacement and said it had neon bases and neon k2 logos all over it. sad to say but one of the best all mountain rippers is finally in its grave
 
That's correct. Pick up PE's while you can, they'll be collectors shit in 30 years.
 
i personally think that its good.

PE's have been the same ski for past couple years. they should get rid of it
 
its actually very good marketing if you remember how sucessful the old extreme was - this way they can open up futher the market for twins through people being able to associate with the ski

-also retro seems to be the way fashion is heading - e.g. new troublemakers

-plus the PE was getting stale, losing sales year by year and they definitely needed to mix it up a bit.
 
I'm still mourning the death of the Karmas. I have a pair of them that will be kept in real nice condition forever.

I'm not a big fan of the PE's. I didn't like their flex pattern all that much.
 
word - volkl retiring the karma was a massive call, the wall has seen great success though
 
I heard bad things but they had pretty fricken sick graphics every year, definitely set a precedent early on for creative graphics if nothing else.
 
Some may like them, but I have skied them and found them to be the most uninspiring, boring ski ever.
 
they were the first ski that set the 'non traditional graphic' trend over the past 5 years that every other compnay had to catch up to
 
thank god. total shit. my cousins pretty much don't have a top sheet, they're the originals. they were so heavy and just poop.
 
From what i have heard the graphic is the old classic neon K2 graphic where its K2 on top of K2 and they fade into diffrent neons you all know the one im talking about it was on there poles this year. At least thats what some of the insiders told me.

 
The new ski is the K2 extreme, it has the same graphic as the old K2 extreme, I don't thing the ski shape/construction changes at all though.
 
yea i got k2s silencers and they are stiff.. chip so fuckin easy and i rode the p.e.s and they were heavy and stiff so i really dont care about either of them... i think i might just ride solomns anyways
 
It was time for it to go. I used to think PE's were the shit before I skied the Karma and the MSP and realized it was a pretty underperforming ski
 
the old PE's were sweet, but the new one suck However why the had to replace it with a ski called the extremes is a little gay
 
ive still got my old pes as my urban/shitty day ski, ive beaten the shit outta them and theyre still holding up, it was my first twin as well, great ski

but the last 2 years of them have been pretty shitty... we havent sold any of this years enemy at all, and i agree with earlier posts that theyre super heavy and unresponsive compared to my volkls but still, sad to see them go

and the extreme? thats super rad.
 


the extreme's will take over, just a matter of time

what they should do is bring back scott schmidt
