RIP FullTilt

Sad to see the brand go, it seems that they are the only boots that have truly fun and cool designs. As brands come and go I feel like we as the ski community should appreciate the brands we have before they’re gone.

thankfully they’re not going, k2 had owned them for a while and now they are just becoming part of k2’s lineup

Oh sick I had the impression that they were going under completely

No they have been owned by K2 since they started. Business wise it makes way more sense to reach a larger market. Newschoolers wise it sucks because such a beloved brand has a new name.

I knew they were owned by K2 but NS clickbaited me. I thought K2 was getting rid of them all together

I skimmed over the article but didn’t want to read. so k2 will now just sell the 3 piece boot with a k2 branding and graphic?

I just hope they keep the fulltilt brand identity and don’t just turn it into more k2

If so, I’ve got a full tilt descendent 8 used for one season. (Rare discontinued), no lowballing I know what I have

Yeah, who knows what will happen. I’m not going to lie some of the k2 boots were dope (the 2022 mindbender ) but it definitely won’t be the same

NS does support brands while they’re alive. Fiercely loyal about it sometimes too. I’d bet NS has played a big role in putting a few on the map.

I understand why people are sad because the brand won't exist anymore but I'm just happy that K2 will be keeping some of the models.

The brand identity is what keeps it from growing and attracting new customers. The demographic that Full Tilt is aimed at is pitifully small.

But our hearts are pure and our minds are clear!!

(Actually scratch that last part)

They are just going to be rebranded with K2. No need to freak out.

This is still a huge blow. K2 is not the same as full tilt. Full tilt was great for skiing because it was reasonably ski brand agnostic.

But it's seen as a park brand, not just by consumers, even by shops. Which limit's the viability in a lot of people's eyes.

Wonder what a lot of the athletes are gonna do now? Can’t really see guys like Phil, Sammy, and Henrik signing to k2 boots. Maybe it’s time for amer to bring back the spk with armada branding..?

You do realize they already are. It’s the same company lol

Even though the boot itself seems to continue to be made, it is still a bummer. Sad to see such an important brand go, even if the product won't end. Also anyone know what will happen to Henrik the other skiers that don't ski for k2?

I'm sure their contracts are with K2 or Kohlberg not just Full Tilt.

As long as they rebrand them with designs and components that appeal to full tilt consumers thats fine . I understood why people hyped the brand so much when I bought my 1st pair from them

No shit Sherlock. I am well aware that k2 has owned the raichle mold for decades now. The point you are missing is that these dudes are probably not going to have pro models anymore, and since they ride for competing ski companies I bet there is going to be a conflict of interest. I also see the exit of full tilt as an opportunity for another brand to fill that niche. Amer has the resources and tech to bring in a new freestyle boot without creating a new brand. This is all speculation obviously but I can’t help but think about the possibilities.

If there was profit in "freestyle" boots then they would have. But the genre has peaked. That's why boots like the SPK and Nordica's Ace were canned.

Gotta love everyone acting like they know how things work. Most of us, including myself, need to chill out on the speculating and just wait it out. You'll be alright without pulling claims out of your ass.

Listen to this guy he works for k2, not some random twitter fodder.

But has fulltilt as a brand said anything about it?

That is Full Tilt. All the brands work out of the same office in Seattle. Same people. Also, some of the comments in this thread have been made by people who work for the company.

Dont care. Dalbello makes a better 3 piece boot anyway ?‍♂️

The Krypton 1 was a fit much closer to the original FT mold, that Krypton 2 shell, not so much.
