a moment of silence for dew tour. it was an exciting tour to a single stop now and now to nothing.

post your favorite dew tour memories from comp runs to concerts to the hunnies you met at the after party
 
Best memory was the year they split up slope style into jumps and rails, and then had a rail only event because of the weather. fucking going to colorado in december.

they always wanted to be the first major event of the year which is always a challenge lol. the snowmaking for dew tour was something like 40,000,000 gallons of water for the jumps and pipe.

streetstyle when it was downtown in breck back when they cared about parks was the sickest. i lived in a shitty A frame called the W.H.I.B. (worst house in breck) 3 blocks up and we had a kegger after and it was for sure one of the most hyped parties we threw. got to meet henrik harlaut one year at city market too.

Yeah the downtown street style was actually my favorite memory, it was still cool when they moved it, the setup got better, but the downtown vibe was unmatched.

Supposedly they're just rebranding Dew Tour as the Rockstar Games and its snowboard only. So Games kinda cool for doing this TBH

my favorite memory was hitting the leftover course at mt snow (needless to say my run was better than whoever won) after the event but just in general it was a cool event. never like seeing a skiing event die
 
Sad day for skiing. My favorite memory was watching at killington on the lift as a kid not knowing anything and just being amazed. Wish I paid attention while that lasted.

rockstar: drops all snow and extreme sport athletes except mx and auto teams

also rockstar: were replacing dew tour!

but theres zero chance its called the rockstar games. rockstar games is who make gta red dead redemtion etc. so everytime you searched it, you would see them instead of this comp.

Curious to learn more on this. Considering Rockstar has a fair amount of skiers on their team this seems like a strange move no? Or did they clean house on the team side of things too?

It's fitting for the direction they have been going. about a year ago they axed the whole ski team without any real reason. Seems they just don't think skiing is in their best interest unfortunately.

they also axed snowboarding though. and skate, bmx, surfing, etc. i guess they aren’t seeing the value in sponsoring individuals so maybe they are going for more events or just dropping sports in general.

Their current athlete list shows snowboard, skate, bmx, and surfing (although not many athletes in some categories). Looks like skiing was the one that was axed completely.

yeah thats what i was sayin in that bottom paragraph. thats why i think theres zero chance they call it the rockstar games because if you look that up, you see CJ on a train or some guy on a horse. honestly, still gonna get that regardless. people will type rockstar skate or rockstar open and still get GTA 6 leaks. dew tour was way better for name recognition imo but it wasnt a tour anymore and energy drinks fit the event branding nowadays so I get it.

Haha got you, no coincidence that most of the xgames athletes are sponsored by monster as well, monster has some pretty crazy incentives for winning their big events like xgames.

I was joking but I would genuinely prefer Monster's lineup gets bigger because its a way better drink and company in general
 
That sucks. dew tour > x games

it would be sick if Yerba Mate jumped into the action sports scene because that stuff tastes way better than all of the other energy drinks. They could host a ski/snowboard series in the winter and then in the summer really target their demographic.

Summer events could include slack line, hackey sack, riding one wheels while doing whippits and driving Subarus at highway speeds on dmt.
 
Wasn’t the same once it wasn’t a tour. Was so sick to watch different stops at resorts you’d never see major televised contests now

Rockstars are HUGE in factory jobs. I see mfs drink 3-4 on 12 hr days.

I'm not happy to say I frequent 7/11 on some work mornings but dudes loading up with tons of energy drinks plus like taquitos or whatever horsemeat food that's there at like 5am is always wild.
