hey is anyone on here riding at whakapapa this season?

il be there with a few of my crew,

just hopefully they can come up with a desecnt park this year.

if not we can also ride the fukn wickd terrain.

YEEAH. Me too mate.

They are supposed to be making quite a nice one with a big ass kicker down that run in to the waterfall express.

Got a huuuuuge crew be riding there and Turoa this year, we all about hiking though so you probably won't see us much unless you're into big natural stuff in the b/c

hell no,

im all about the backcountry,

kinda cant get into park skiing when you grow up skiing at ruapehu.

ill be there all season,

although a gud park still fukn ownz.

i dont really like it where it is on the waterfall chair, always thought it better in the valley....

haha, awesome, we'll up on the glacier or bombing lines off the back of the crater all season, found some sick chutes off the western side of the summit down towards tukino as well that are worth a look, steep as hell and a bitch to get out of but some of the sickest skiing you'll find on this shitty rock, werd.

i was waiting for this to become a thread about who has the sickest crew on mt. pehu... haha. Snow Blinded Minds Representa, SBM Crew!

Oh, well... my crew's milkshake brings all the pow to the hill, our milkshake is betta than yours, doo doo doo doo dodo odoo...

ill be at turoa pretty much every weekend doing an instructor course, but im keen to hit up whakapapa afterwards and also do some hiking. never been bc in nz before so would be great if anyone wants to show me some sick lines sometime!!

i'll be back again, working up Whakapapa for a 2nd season. Here's to an awesome season, we already had nearly a meter of snow dump, could be in for an epic season!!

See you all in the park or hiking up somewhere crazy, backside of the pinnies is sweet!

laters

pinnacles are pretty sick indeed, especially off the back side facing away from the field, some huuuuuge lines down there, bit of a hike out but well worth it. They're all short runs but pretty exciting, need to get down south and do some REAL b/c up the Tasman and above Fox/Franz, usually do a trip down there every year, fly in and smash the place up for a week, could be a mission in November if anyone's keen??? WOOT!

yeah i did a few small tours in canada last season and it fukn rules,

i wana get more into it.

im just use to chucking the skis over the shoulder and hiking untill we find sumthing that looks sweet at ruapehu.

never seems to be too much of an avalanche danger at ruapehu, although we have had sum huge slides in the last 3-4 years,

1) glacier at turoa went down past treeline

2) middle of turoa, the one that got caught on tvideo

3) friend got caught on backstage last year.

always see alot of people hiking the crater tho...

ill be down at whakapapa this season, ripping it up again.. Anyone else here in a ski club? Im in iwikau, just below ski racers and otaihape if you know where they are. Hopefull backstage/pinnacles will fill up early on

Wouldn't count on it mate, hehe, was skiing down there a few weeks ago and it was nice but with all the rain and warm weather it's pretty skint down there now unfortunately, maybe we'll get a sweet late season like our northern homies, WOOT!

Im planning on more whaka, less turoa this year. Been riding Turoa for a few years now, time for a bit of a change.
