riding switch

i got a pair of salomon verse skis, they aren't twin tips, but they do have a small tip on the back of them. How big should i tip on a ski be before you take off a jump switch. I dont want to get a head injury from riding switch up a jump and having my tips dig in, so i would just like any input from anyone. The tips come about 1/4 of an inch off the ground, maybe more.

if i lived near a decent hill, there might just be a chance that i would be decent......nah! Dag Yo

Well... it will all depend on the jump( steepness, and the snow conditions. As long as the jump isn't steep or have a quick transition, and the snow is very hardpacked, you should be fine.

I found twin tips are not necessary. Last year I didn't have twins and no problems at all. I suppose they help you when you have a poor landing or hit a snow clump.

I had skis that were barely tipped before i got my twins and i could do jumps switch on them easily....so i dont think it would be tooo mcuh of a problem

As long as the transition is gradual and smooth, there shouldn't be any problems, but watch the switch landings. That's what'll get you.

yeah i didnt have twins last year, I only hit small jumps without much kick, or else ure tips will dig in...landings dont matter very much, u will be able to land switch on verses, they're like 1080 moguls and my friend did on those

That was just so fresh, how you took it out of context like that...Do u have any Titanic Jokes for me?

id be more worried about the landing, anything soft u are likely to dig in and get messed up, but just land regular then...switch 540

lol. Last year it was a powder day, and at the time I had a pair of apache chiefs for my backcountry set up and I was skiing those in the resort. I went to try and do a wall ride. on the way down my tails stuck in the snow and I fell over. it was pretty funny.

You were just called out a few days ago for bumping 4 or 5 threads from 6 years ago, and now you're acting like the expert, and bitching at him. Don't call someone else out for making the same mistake you did, that's just hypocritical.

nah, thats for those fancy newskoolers with their short twin-tipper trick skis
everybody knows you can't ski backwards without being completely out of control and dangerous
