why do snowboarders get the real snow and street events in the xgames? so dumb the whole time i was watching the street all i could think about was how much better skiers would do. not to put down snowboarders completely but they were not at all creative and every hit was the same. LJ or charles gagnier wouldve killed it on the street and i couldnt name all the guys out there who couldve wrecked in the real snow.

Its all about the money. More people will watch snowboarding=More money, even if they arent on the same level. What else is X games about? they clearly dont give a shit about safely progressing things, its all about the skrilla.

If anything, they're probably testing the like-ability of such an event. If people hate it with snowboards, then, in their eyes, they'll probably hate it with skiers even more.

because urban skiing is wack. and thats the bottom line because this guy said so:

Ur pretty ignorant if you think all the real snow entries weren't creative. For example most of the shit in Dan Brisse's segment were original features and set ups... And I mean no one has done a double as well as Halldor in the Streets.
But, I do think that real snow for skiing could be extemely ill tho... I mean, think of skiers hittin shit with $50 g's on the line. It would be Fucking nuts.

What i find funny is that slowly skiing is becoming more popular than snowboarding. In every park I have been to lately I see so many more skiiers. The public is going to be very slow to catch on. Then again this huge number of skiers might just be my area; i don't know...

This for sure. Not exactly that i see that many more skiers, but to non-winter sports people. (At least where I live) Tom wallisch is as well known as shaun white right now. and i love it

Snow boarding equipment is cheeper than ski stuff, so it will be tough to get more people skiing but at my home hill it has tottly fiped from snowboarding to skiing

Think of it this way, snowboarding 5 or 7 years ago was way more popular in the younger ages then skiing is now-a-days. It wasn't hard for them to get the comps they wanted, because at that time it was so mainstream to snowboard (Hipster me for sticking to skiing ;) ). Just this year at my home mountain the biggest comp of the year called the "Showdown over the city" was just for snowboarders only. Now finally this year skiers are allowed to join and compete. Skiing is just making a comeback sooner or later we will be able to do street.
