Revolutionary Powder skis?

spats- fatter rockered, modeled after water skis(mcconkey)

DPS Lotus- I believe the first Reverse sidecut Reverse camber ski. started the whole reverse sidecut fad.

Spatula, then pontoon, since then nothing has really been revolutionary, but the new salomon ski may change things up.

Armada JJ. First to introduce the 5 dimension sidecut that allows wider skis to perform in variable conditions.

does anyone know that spats were the OG rockered ski developed by mcconkey, who then switched to K2 and essentially brought the same tech to pontoons?

I would argue that reverse sidecut is just as revolutionary as rocker, because it prevents tip and tail from hooking up in pow.

that new salomon ski looks pretty sick, i dont know what really its point is yet tho. for those who wanna know about it there's an entire salomon freeskitv episode about it

I skied on it a few weeks ago.

Did not have really any powder but hell the ski is fun. Incredibly quick edge to edge and so easy to initiate a turn. The avid pow skier/big mountain ripper will have absolutely no use for it but for the average guy who wants to rip groomers and ski decently in the deep stuff will love this ski.

and by revolutionary you mean 3 years behind the benchetler and JJ?

I think the s7 is probably the best ski design with camber, pintail and rocker yet still traditional side cut to rail groomers.

People need to learn their history. It's not that hard considering the spatula isn't "that" old. What like 10 years?

1996, further proves why Shane is and always will be the Boss of Bosses.

The Spatula is the only powder ski that can be considered Revolutionary. Since then, it's all been about fine tuning what works for this or that.

I'm going to have to go:

Spatulas - 1st revolutionary pow ski - reverse reverse

Pontoon - new unique shape w/ super wide tip and narrow tail - rocker incorporated

Line Prophet 130s - 1st super fat ski

Line EP Pros/ Hellbents - Similar release - 1st pow - jib skis

Armada JJ - 1st 5 dimensional shape that is rapidly become the standard

Future:

DPS Spoon - we will see haha

Liberty Mutant - " "

I like this post

I'm quite curious about the spoon. Although for how much they are gonna cost I'm also quite uninterested.

dont forget the pillowfight or whatever they will be called from on3p the size its self will make them revolutionary

Pocket Rockets! boy am I a space case. First real twin "powder" ski?

Those now salomon blue surf board skis are stupid, I don't care what you say. That deep a side cut would put so much damn torque on those that they'd snap lickady split.

Also, which company incorporated the swallow tail first? I feel like its been around for a while. It might be salomon....

I demoed these for a while and they are easily the funnest groomer ski I have been on, they are okay in tree skiing and i definitely would not want to charge anything on them, but I'm almost tempted to pick up a pair just because of how fun they are to carve(and the shape and the graphics...)

Line Motherships were the first twin tip powder ski. Pretty important in the fact it was the first freestyle ski to be designed to be ridden out of the park.
But pure pow ski, Id say Spat, Pontoon, then probably EPs, which I think were the first twin with tail rocker

The new DPS Spoon skis look pretty revolutionary in terms of being completely different then any other ski ever before.....

The only things that can really count are the Spatula, then maybe the JJ. Everything else is just slight tweaks on accepted technology.
