I live in Anchorage now, lived in Cordova before that. Usually ski Hatcher, Chugach, and the Kenai mountains. Always up for checking out new and old places though.

Yeah dude! Have you skied turnagain yet this year? I saw some pictures and it looks pretty decent. Your blog looks like you do some quality backcountry, you ever been up near rainbow ridge?

I haven't skied Turnagain, although I have a buddy who's been getting after it up there. The snow line is really high right now. Lots of bushwhacking and rain crust to get to the goods. Hopefully after this week Turnagain will be getting good!

Never skied off Rainbow Ridge, though I've heard there's good stuff in that zone. The closest I've skied to Rainbow is Falls Creek, which is sick!

I am hoping to do some skiing down in the anochorage area over Christmas break. My family will be at alyeska for a few days but I want to find some good backcountry to do as well.

And I am always down for a BC booter shesh as well!

Alyeska will not be opening on thanksgiving! The bottom half of the resort doesn't have any snow. Heard tincan has been pretty decent. Frantically trying to piece together a touring set up
