Review

so after wanting to go to big boulder i finally go to go last weekend. and since i am very bored i thought i would write a review.

Things I liked:

The plaza

the jumps

everything was decently maintained

some fun down rails

and nice long boxes

everything was fun

Stuff I disliked:

that red down rail could be amazing but it was setup so stupidly. No gaps to a down. make it urban style with a WIDE lip.

everything was a little sticky. but not that bad really

some of the lips to rails weren't to wide.

but overall it was the funniest place i have ridden this year. and i have gone to a lot of different east coast resorts. and it was fun. a good place to learn tricks. i would say the parks where better than okemo and killington with out a doubt.

and also has anyone hit those rails by the parking lot. a few of them looked prime

i hope you arent talking about that group of 3 stair's on the left on your way in before the parking lot...

A couple of people have "died" on those aluminum. I got up close and personal with them, you have to round over your edges, round them way over... the steel edge cuts into the aluminum and will sling you to your face.

Thanks for the report, it's nice to see someone take the time to do that.. As far as set-ups are concerned, one of the cool things about Boulder is that they constantly moving stuff around, reshaping - Next time you are at Boulder seek out the Park Crew, tell them what you like and what you don't like. They are eager to please.

and also they had a down box that had urban jumps and it looked nice. but getting enough speed was almost impossible. that feature should definitely be moved

aluminum is bad news any way you look at it. i've tried alum. rails on skis with no edges, and it was still a disaster. and not to brag, but its not like i suck at hitting rails, papa can vouch for that.

yea i agree man. i live up in syracuse and it is a great spot for rails. and i always try to stay away from aluminum and rails without a natural drop. just makes it that much sketchier. those rails looked good while driving, but i didnt really feel like checking them out.

and here is my myspace site thing. i have a few pictures of some syracuse urban
