"Reverie" (a movie shot with the New Canon EOS 5D mark II DSLR camera)

It definitely produces a sick image. But with no 24p, I find it useless for film making. Introduce 24p capabilities and then they will be on the right track. 30p looks like junk to me, that's my personal opinion though.
 
I feel like if you're going to use so many lenses and do so much post production you might as well buy an actual video camera, like an ex3. The 30p did look kinda choppy at times tho, kinda weird.
 
just thought it was cool that they now make prosumer DSLR's that have the ability to shoot true HD video.

Yeah it is cool. But i feel like these videos are pretty bias, meaning someone can't just pick up this camera and make this caliber of a video. I remember seeing a video that compared HVX to D90 video and they obviously manipulated it sooo bad just for advertising. They did ALOT to this video to make it look better.
 
I remember first seeing that video, and i must admit i was impressed but you have to keep in mind all the money spent of lenses...that well over $25,000.00 in lenses...but someone told there was no post production which is impressive
 
No doubt there was a lot spent on lighting and lenses. Personally I would say a lot is it is just to advertise the 'gimmick' factor of the video function. Although the video looks good, I doubt your average person could come up with the same quality. If they can (and I guess we'll see after it comes out) then it is cool if you can afford the camera and lenses needed...
 
that is pretty unbelieveable quality for a body that goes for like 2700 bones... ohh wait it also shoots full frame 21.1mp immages at 3.9fps.
 
The original unaltered raw files are available on the Canon website. Hardly any post production was done on them.

As for lighting...read his website he explains how he did it. It was

lit with the modeling light from a profoto strobe. Its not even a

piece of equipment that is designed for that purpose. Its basically

just a regular light bulb in a reflector.
