ok so in highschool i wrote an essay and submitted it via canvas, now in college i want to reuse it with some minor tweaks and i will be submitting it to canvas again. I know canvas has a built it plagiarize-checker so do any of you know if it will show up way too plagiarized since it has already been submitted before?

Pretty sure thats how the system works. If it matches something thats been submitted, it flags it for plagiarism. Even if you wrote it. I know someone who got screwed over for the same situation at college.

i just submitted it through a plagiarism checker smallseotools, but not turnitin which is what canvas uses and it said it was 89% original so idk, maybe ill have to try turnitin

Plagiarism or not, why would you use high school work in college?

it was the last paper i wrote senior year (finishing up freshman summer class rn) that we spent about a month peer reviewing and rewriting and i dont feel like rewriting a 7 page paper

I guess that's not that bad

You will be fine if you edit the paper with all the new "techniques" your teacher showed you. Add everything you learned in class. If you want to get an A or anything close to it... you have to do a little ass kissing and play to your teachers fancy. After all they are the one grading it.

ok im going to do it

theres no way i can write 7 pages by midnight anyways

If it's your own work it's not plagiarism. They might give you zero based on it being recycled work, but it's 100% not plagiarism.

That's actually a very good point. I haven't thought about that before.

not sure why this is downvoted.

pla•gia•rism /ˈpleɪdʒəˌrɪzəm/n.

[uncountable] the act of stealing another's ideas, written passages, concepts, etc., as one's own:

but I wouldn't re use your essay they probably won't like that. you could always ask your professor if its cool.

I think I reused about 5 papers from highschool in college. If you got an A in HS, a B is pretty achievable in college.
