Unfortunately they aren’t shipping to the us. If they would it’s a steal. No import tax because of how low the skis cost.

You can have UPS, USPS, etc. deliver right to shipping forwarders, you ignorant fuck.

Heritage Labs is a US company started by a TGR dude. Even though they are manufactured in China, he would have to comply with US copyright law. Not sure the details of K2's intellectual property copyrights but probably Marshal just never uses the term 'Hellbent' and it's G.

Correct. And manufacturing in China so they can skirt the copyright laws in the US. No reputable US company would copy a design and release it with knock off names. Which is exactly what’s going on here. And why they’re being produced in China. Legal means nothing to them nor does copyright infringement

Hey man, sorry to have missed this thread, it was just emailed to me, but Marshal from Heritage Lab here.

I just thought to clear up a bit that the ski is an homage. As a long-time ski forum member (TGR since 2003 and NS infrequently in the late 2000s) and ski industry vet, I am actually proud to know the original K2 dudes who designed the OG. They are super pumped about the project since they get asked all the time to do a remake, but the chances are "much less than zero".

Legal of course means a lot to me, as I am a one-man brand and not in a position to get tied up in some legal headache, nor would I want to inadvertently piss off my friends. Regarding production specifically, I am fortunate to have worked with many world-class ski production facilities during my career, and after connecting with all of them when I launched Heritage Lab Skis two years ago, I intentionally selected the factory that was best positioned to make the constructions I wanted, deliver the level of fit and finish that I expected, and work with my (small) order volumes. It happened to be in China.

Now that I am aware of this thread, and have made a new login since my old one was tied to a retired email address, I am more than happy to answer any other questions, should someone have them. The point may be moot, however, as the 189s are sold out and there are only a couple pairs of 179 remaining.
