high school sports are crucialanything you did around the house like yardwork or mowing the grass

video game achievements (shows commitment)

idk companies love shit like that

and also babysitting

DM me your email I'll shoot you over an example of a good resume. It's from a friend of mine who is interning as some major hedge fund & he got his outline for the resume from a friend who is working corporate at Bank of America. One goes to NYU the one at boa went to nyu so it's good stuff.

How much experience do you have? Anything that you can talk about? Either way, I think an internship resume should have your education first and foremost.

There are a ton of good formats online that you can find. I went with kind of my own format that I'm quite happy with.

Send me an email and I'll forward it on to you. Timdwyer@hotmail.ca

Definitely make sure your kill/death ratio is on there, its almost as important as your gpa.

One my friend brought up to be the other day, which I thought was a great idea is, if you've gotten a girl to go ATM.. MAKE SURE you put that in your skills section.

For real though, managers hiring interns don't expect a lot of crazy experience and whatnot. On my resume that I used when I was looking for internships I had the following sections:

Purpose: Kind of like my mission statement

Education: School/Degree/gpa/ and a description of my ciriculum including my major courses or concentrations.

Skills: skills that I learned in school that pertained to my major and the usual like good speaker/writer

Work Experience: Whether it was major related or not I put my most recent 2, just to show that I could hold down a job. I put my main responsibilities at each

Activities/Achievements: Scholarships and clubs/extra curricular and whatever

If your dad is getting you the job, I wouldn't spend hours upon hours perfecting it.

Education- GPA for college so far, major, minors

Work experience- when, what and where

Skills

Relevent coursework

awards activities- list clubs you hold positions in or awards youve won

so I went through several interviews with NWM they get me on board, I start doing fasttrack training.

reason I left: they ask you to compile a list of everyone you have ever known and their info

then go try and sell your friends family neighbors etc insurance...........

I knew that it would burn bridges so I was like fuck that.

like why would you ruin/tamper reputation and shit for an "internship"

Step 1) Google your question

Step 2) Sack up and make a draft

Step 3) Close your computer

Step 4) Make an appointment with your college's Careers Office

Step 5) Go in and learn about resumes

Resumes are easy. Give it 90 minutes and you'll have a decent one. Good enough, especially given that your dad is hooking you up. Best yet, have him look at it. He's probably done a good amount of hiring and would know what to look for.

how is this objective statement:

Highly motivated Business Analytics-- Finance student eager to find a business related internship, requiring applied thinking skills to obtain desired real world experience.

From speaking to people in industry, they prefer people who go out and get the internships themselves rather than parents, but it's if your parent knows someone that can sort it out then good luck.

If you have any points of differences include them such as community work, big treks that you have done, boy scouts, different organisations that you are part of- you need to show that you have gathered experiences outside academia that may be of use and benefit their company.

In addition if you go for an interview, learn about their company and their upcoming projects and ask questions about what processes they are using in the projects etc

I don't think businesses care that you were in boyscouts. Keep your resume simple and concise.

if you don't have a ton of experience, do it by categories. like education, previous jobs, skills, references, etc

How the fuck do you not have a resume as a junior in college?

If you any fantasy football achievements, make sure to include them. It shows that you have a good understanding of game theory which companies love to see.

they do. they care about leadership activities. things that can give you a one up against a competitor. it might not seem like much but it'd be something practical to put down.
