Resort jobs that don't care much about a background check / criminal history?

Ya boy got probation for 2 years cause of some dumb stuff that happened at college. Do resorts care much about criminal history? Anyone have any experience applying for resort jobs with a criminal history?

It would probably depend on what position you were applying for but I doubt most resorts are going to background check. If you're applying for an on hill job(lifty, snowmaking, maintenance, park crew, etc.) I don't see much of a reason to. If you're applying for a position that deals with money/sales, then maybe but still not really likely. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Have you seen what the employment market is like right now? As long as it was some minor shenanigans type stuff you should be fine. What type of charges did you plea out to?

It's called possession of criminal tools, which sounds much more dangerous than what actually happened. Also, because the crime was committed in a different county than my permanent residence I don't have to meet with a probation officer or do anything like that unless I am convicted of another misdemeanor.

Work at a small ski center/resort? Smaller business dont often check criminal history...

nope, I never got in trouble with the law so I wouldnt know

All right. Another NS member with a criminal background. I wonder how many members on ns have any sort of a criminal background?

this guy does

Higher end places probably will...But i knew a lot of foremans and lift crew leads with some possesion and DUI charges here and there. The demand for help is always incredibly high in resort towns, theres always high turnover rates.

A monkey could do a lifties job, I don't think they'll care unless you're into killing people or child snatching.

No ski area cares. They need bodies.

Vail Resorts runs a background check on all new/returning employees. I don't know what their qualifications are for not hiring though. My only criminal history is being on the Summit County urban watch list which wouldn't show up on a background check. My guess would be they only care about felonies but I don't know.

Unless it's a big ol company I've found that most employees dont care that much. Even working for the state most of my fellow sw4's have dui's, misdeamors or other criminal history.

The employment crisis right now definetly helps.

If you're doing kitchen work, those employers generally care the least about a criminal background. Snowmaking/park crew too.
